need a good site for background checks

I'm looking for a good website to do background checks. I looked for hours yesterday. All seemed to be a rip off. Please help me.

 

In the USA and all checks but mostly criminal and civil.

 

I've used intellius and ussearch. They are ok, I bought a package on each and they pretty much did what I needed them to. They aren't perfect or great but they are reasonable. If it's a background check for employment, do you use a payroll service? Many have background check service which is much more thorough, reliable and professional. They are night and day difference, actually. The websites vs. ADP service are like comparing flank steak to filet mignon. And I don't even like ADP.

 

What about the local police department or sheriff department? That is how we do it, when we want to hire someone. Though, it helps when I work in county IT, and have easy access to that.
