We Have lost a MG Brother. Fair well Stubby

To all who have known and loved him . I would like to start, if I may, a Memoriam in Honor of a good buddy and great friend Stubby to all here, who I just found out last night had past away in his home in January of this year. He has left behind a legacy here at MG's as well as other forums. He has also left behind the love of his life "Stubby Jr."
I will really miss you Vern. You had a pretty rough 2 years. I guess there are bigger plans for you now. To Mrs Hilt I can not imagine the loss you must feel and pray in time it will be filled in with the part of Vern that is still with you, your son Zach. To Zach, Your daddy was a great man and I hope you follow in his footsteps. My heart aches with you and yours.

Took a while for it to really sink in once I heard about this.
One of my friends here and will be sorely missed.

This saddens me greatly . I did know that Vern had major medical problems, but never really expected this. I did not know him real well, but I did know him well enough to know that he was a very nice guy, with a keen wit and a big heart.
All my good thoughts and prayers go to his wife, family and friends - and especially his son Zack, (Stubby Jr.). May you find solace in these hard times.

I kept trying to make this be a very un-funny joke somehow until it sunk in. He was definitely one of the good guys, and I can't imagine what the loss of him is doing to his family. Remember when he sent me a bunch of computer parts after mine blew up, and a bunch of us sent postcards to Zach from various parts of the US and other countries for his map? That rated in my top ten coolest things to happen online.

The email and phone contact have been disabled so I called the funeral home and will have to call back Monday. They said that if anyone wants to send anything to the family they can do so in care of the funeral home and they (funeral home) will contact the family. They said it would be better if they were all sent in one container. But anyone who wants to send it themselves that would be fine also.
Thank You Halo for the comment on the original post but I only said what was in my heart.He will be missed.

Stubby was also a very good and close friend. I will miss him something awful, and it was a huge shock to find this out. RIP, Stubby, my friend.

Someone ask the Funeral Home if they have internet and if so can the Funeral Home print a copy of this thread for the family to know we share in their loss.

Hey BOOM I called and they said they will have to find another way to get in touch with the family as Terrie has her Phone set to not take any incoming calls.I can understand her reasoning in this and respect it. So as soon as I hear from the funeral home, which will be some time today, I will post and let you know.

@ TC I just want to say thanking you for doing the search.Because you did many of his friends and MG family can say "Good Bye" to him and wish his family outside of this world their condolences. You "are' a true friend to him.

UPDATE: Just received a call from the funeral home and they did get in touch with his wife. She requested anything that was to be sent to the family be sent in care of the funeral home and she would pick up from there. They said it be better if they were sent all at once. I am willing to do this if anyone wants to send their cards/letters to me. Other wise the Name and address is located below.

For the purposes of this thread - My Condolences to Stubby's Family, he spoke lovingly of both of you all the time whilst he was here with his other Family at MG's.
