My new ride. There's a madness to my method!

Boredom got the better of me and I picked up another vehicle. I figured that I would take advantage of the rising gas prices and get an SUV.

I'm sort of retired at the moment and wifey works really close to home, also been wanting one for a while to carry the dog around in.

I've been in the auto business for just about 30 years and have always wanted a Grand Cherokee, but like most SUVs, feared the gas mileage.

Nice looking vehicles, somewhat comfortable and out of everything that I've ever worked on, don't seem to have too many problems, just have to know what you are looking for.

It's a 97 with 150k, 6 cyl (better of the Jeep engines offered), leather, and all the bells and whistles.

Best time to buy an SUV, if you are brave enough, or stupid enough. Depends on how you look at it.

Not quite brave enough to buy a new one, also not financially in that place at this time.

    We're really liking it.

Thanks Fred. It's in really nice shape.

We looked at a boatload of them and this one is in the best condition that we found.

We could take our time picking something out, due to my being sick and not driving that much.

We decided to get rid of wifey's 2 door, while it was still worth a couple $$.

You know when you go to look at something and you can tell that it was just cleaned up? That doesn't seem to be the case with this one. It was definitely taken care of and not just polished for a sale.

We're happy with it. BTW, how's the Camry doing you?

It is fooking awesome, love it. Going to get the oil leak fixed next week, then, if the weather warms up, the carbon fiber stuff goes on. :-D Once pollen season is over, it is going to get a good detailing, and I might have some picts.

    Enjoy the Jeep! :-D

Very cool ride. I wanted something like that myself(no money atm obviously). I use to drive older jeep cherokee it was pretty nice but smaller in the back seats.

Never would have realized that it's nearly 14 years old if you hadn't mentioned it.

    It looks really good.

It's just a nice on the inside too. Everything works perfectly, with the exception of the stereo. It works, just doesn't get too loud. Amp problem?
Oh well. I can easily replace the cd player and might as well upgrade the rest of the system while I'm there.

I feel that we got a sweet ride.
