Locked out of log on

My brother started his system from a previous restore point but now his password is not recognized. He changes passwords every two weeks according to a microsoft(?) notification, so he used two of the most recent passwords but can't get pass the login screen. Any suggestions?

Vista is his OS.

Here is a program that I used recently, quite straight forward. has all the instructions on website

Boot into *SAFE MODE* (f8) on next re-start, go to user accounts and delete the password from the account. Re-start and you should be into windows without the password.

I used this method when i inadvertently locked my self out, My PC works in two languages (English and Dutch) what happened i set the password in English but my startup language is dutch and it would not recognize the keystrokes.:-o
