Any recommended deleting software?

I have a file that won't delete because another program is supposedly using. Does anyone have any good reviews of a freeware program that will let you force a delete? I could have swore I posted this question, but I couldn't find it in my thread history. Strange days.:heli

 

Enter into safe mode by continually tapping F8. Then use Explorer to navigate to the file and do Shift-Delete.

 

I use O&O safe erase and find it excellent but it is not free.

I think a little detective work is in order to try and find who or what is using the file.

KillBox can be used to delete stubborn files.

Thanks, it worked great, I never knew it exsisted .

I was told that my OS will try indexing some folder/files over and over again without success, thus preventing me from deleting it as it is currently being used(trying to be indexed).

Though if you have a suggestion on how to find out exactly what program is using it, then I am all ears(eyes really).
