Probably a dumb title. What I would like to know, is there any thing I can chance to keep a site from recognizing me. My ISP gives me a new IP address every time I log off and back on, but some how that doesn't stop them from recognizing me. If my IP chances every time, how do then know it's me.
    I have a Comtrend ADSL2+Router CT-5621.
    ipconfig /all shows this.:confused

Hi!! Thanks!! OK I'm using firefox. I'm excepting cookies only from 4 sites. That site is not one of them. Should I add that site in the block list?? That would be easy to do.
Is there any way they recognize me by the way my router is set up?? I don't understand all the addresses it's showing. I know what my IP address is, but I don't know the rest.
    Thank you for your reply!!:confused

Clear out all your cookies in Firefox and clean out any Flash cookies using FlashCookieRemover.

    Reboot and test.

Hi satrow. Thanks for your help. I down loaded flash-cookie-remover. I'm not sure what to do next.

Looks like you don't need to do anything there, no Flash cookies, *.sol, found in the location listed.

Is this a site that you log into automatically and your browser supplies the login details?

    Hi satrow.
I don't know?? The site is a forum. I'm not sure what my browser supplies. I find it strange that they know it's me after I change my IP address. That's why I was wondering if they get information from my router and identify me that way. Does firefox supply information to web sites?? If so what kind of information?? :):)
    Thanks Sir!!

Hi!! Forum is still pretty slow today. I'm not sure yet, but the things we have done may have solved my problem. I have a question about the flash cookies. Do I just click on the icon on my desk top to clear these flash cookies every day . Is there a way I can do this automatically or do I have to clear them manually.
    Thank you Sir!!
PS Where do these flash cookies come from?? I'm learning new things.:clap:hyper

Lot's of things are slow right now, many of us are busy doing all sorts of other things ;)

There was a link from the earlier link that gives more info on Flash cookies, take a read of it. I'd only run the FCC once a week or so to check if there are any there; I don't think there's a way of auto-cleaning them - auto-blocking may be possible, I'm not sure though.

H! Didn't mean you were slow. I meant that it was slow logging on and moving around in the forum. It is much better now. Probably less people logging on the forum. These things happen. Some people panic and think it's their PC when it's just high traffic or maybe a program up dating. I only get concerned if my PC stays slow.
I thank you for your reply's. Will see if that site still knows who I am.:wave
PS will post back latter and report what's going on.
    Thank you Sir!!

Most people asking about this are those having issues on a forum. A large majority are those who have been banned by some forum. Is this the case here?

Hi Tim!! Yes sir it is, but I assure you I have no malicious intent for that site. If this thread will cause problems for Major Geeks, feel free to delete this thread. I'm mostly interested in how much the internet knows about me , which I'm sure is more than I would like for them to know. I was just mostly curious about all this and I won't use it for malicious reasons. There are some things suggested that I hadn't thought of and some things just kind of tied in with the suggestions made by satrow. I hope I have answered you. I would rather not mention the forum here, but would tell you with a PM if you like. I'm very familiar with proxy and other programs.
Thank you for your reply Sir!!
PS I will not go into detail what all I did unless it is approved by Major Geeks. I'm not even sure if it worked. Will have to wait and see!!

Understood. You might want to consider using whois.com to see exactly who is trying to search your computer.

Hi Tim!! I know who they are and I have turned in a complaint to my ISP and Home lend Security. We owe them to much money. There won't be any thing done about it. It's hard to control another country. They have been reported by others also. Do you really think our government is going to do any thing??
    Thanks for your reply sir!!
    Thank you Tim!!

Then that's about all you can do, other than keeping your firewall in place.

Yes Sir!! I don't know how these IP's get past my Router and my firewall, but they do. MBAM blocks them, and that's good!! I can usually change IP addresses and also stop them. I'm not worried just aggravated.
    Thanks Tim!!
