Not intending to gross anyone out, but I have a cat, and I live in a condo and he uses a kitty litter box.
a few times a week, I empty his waste, toss it a plastic bag and throw it away, what people do..
we take the most biodegradable shit in the world, seal it in a non-degradable baggie, then toss it into landfills.

I am looking for a better alternative, I dont have much of a yard, and I think a compost heap would attract unwanted pests
    are there any other alternatives?

Plastic biodegrades,a plastic bag can biodegrade in as little as a decade, its plastic bottles and containers that can take hundreds of years.

In the UK we have green waste bins, that's what I'd put it in.

You could always use biodegradable bags if it bothers you:confused

A plastic shopping bag will biodegrade within a year, a paper sack shopping bag within a week at the dump. So yeah, there are easy alternatives.

They make biodegradable litter too. It's like cedar instead of clay. It'll cost you.. but it'll serve the purpose.

I was going to haul the shit to a woods and dump it there, its one cat
I am not going to bring the shit into my house and into my bathroom, I have the litter box in the garage to stay far away from me
I dont have a very big garden area,I live in a condo

It depends what they are buried in,in something airtight like peat they can last decades.

What's interesting is if they are dug up to the surface and left there the sun breaks them down in about a year.
