Any way I'm taking a pole to see if I have improved my posting. I know I was a little pushy at the start, but I'm trying real hard to improve all that. I really love this forum. and I really want to be a part of this community. Lay it on me. Am I doing a little better. We are not here to criticise anyone, even the most advanced users need help and advice, We here are all willing to assist any one with their computer issues what ever skill level they may be at, hopefully they learn as they are helped, though most are realy just after a "Quick Fix" and on their way,You can advise in posts the importance of having various restore options and back -ups, but the reallity is that the majority of users don't and never will.

Darn Rikky. I thought I was cool for 73 years young. The Fonz was cool for sure. They don't have good TV any more. I think a bunch of those actors are dead now and the Fonz is old like me, but still cool:-D

OK Guys and Gals. As you all know, I have joined many forums. It is my opinion that Major Geeks is the best of the best
I guess this was really a silly thread for me to start. I thought it would be fun and I'll admit I had been in the Canadian Hunter when I stared it.
I expected to get some bad reviews, like the one from Wenchie; which is "Go out side and play":-D I also got some funny comments about being cool like the Fonz. I was hoping for a thread that might be funny and members could let their hair down and not have to be so serious. It wasn't the best idea that I have had, but it was fun and I don't think I hurt any thing. I want to thank everyone for their reply's and now I'll get back to being serious and sober.:-D

Thanks for your reply and advice. I was in the Canadian Hunter as I explained in earlier post and was just trying to break the ice and have a little fun. I really think I'm improving a little. I try to be my self ; maybe a little to much for forums????? May not be a popularity contest, but I bet you like all the Thanks you get:-D I don't know many people that will say I don't want to be popular; except our friend Wenchie:-D I just want to be a Geek. I think I have helped members on a few posts. I don't know a lot but I love sharing what little I know.

Hi David. I'm not sure if your reply was for only me or if you were talking to the whole community. I don't know how to make this any plainer. I was drinking whiskey when I started the thread. I think our members have had a lot of fun with it and the poll results don't bother me as it was all in fun. I hope you can take advice as well as give it. My advice it lighten up a little my friend. Life is to damn short to be so serious all the time. This was meant to be a fun thread and that's all. There are plenty of threads where we can be serious. Having said that, I have the utmost respect for you and I have seen your name at the bottom of some of my posts, so Thank you sir. Click on my monkey and get a wink.

You will find after you have been here a while that this is unlike any other forum on the net and that is due mainly to the moderators who keep a close eye on the posts to see that we all stay within certain latitudes that are there to make this a comfortable place to be and that new members whatever their expertise do not get ridiculed.

The moderators do give a lot of leeway with posts and they are reluctant to discipline any member for a minor transgression but at times that is necessary and David who is the senior moderator of the forum has the final say.

Do not be offended by remarks made here as they are for the benefit of all members.

 

Hi!! I give up. My thread didn't hurt anyone and a lot of members seemed to have fun with it. My advice to lightened up was meant to be positive thing. I believe I also had praise.

I'm sorry your having a bad time in your life sir. I hope things get better for you. I pretty much down myself. It seems no matter how hard I try to be a member of this community I keep getting scolded and put down. I tried real hard to except all the criticism in a good natured way, but it's getting a little old. I don't need help with my drinking. I have explained that I drink a little whiskey for my neuropathy. caused by 6 months of chemo 7 years ago; instead of the drugs that have been prescribed by my doctor. I respect all moderators on this forum and I wouldn't want their job, but a little criticism should only make them stronger.

I have no more to say about this. I tried to have a little fun and lighten things up. I have been reading a thread stared by Wenchie about boring and it looks like the forum has changed and a lot of people are commenting. I will see where that goes.
