My favourite bit from the Poem “IF”

If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'

I try to remember it when the wife is helping me decorate

Oh don't temp me... I have fun with things like that.

 

I've been forbidden from doing anything involving the word "Fire" anymore, since the "incident" so I'll behave...

 

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!

...because being a woman is so much less work, not at all stressful, and overall a cake walk? :confused

I call BS on that.

 

CAKE! Mims, Cake!! naughty naughty, thnk about the weight:-D

 

The weight is down 11lbs in four weeks, so I can eat cake if I want, thank you.

 

Go Mimsy! :highfive I need your motivation, I have none! I haven't lost anymore weight but (thankfully) I haven't gained any back. However, if I keep eating at my current rate...:-D
