robertbiferi I can't follow the rules

    I just got
    AVS Video Converter

It is a free video converter but when I got to use it and click Convert Now.

    I get a window

This is a none activated verson and a Watermk will be placed in the center of the video.

I thought it was free please help or tell me if I have to do anything.

I am trying to export to MP4 H264

    I installed WinFF
And it works but if I try to use it and change the Frame size and Audio to what I want it does not work.

And I loved WinFF because it also let me pick to have my Output video De interlace or Interlace.

But like I say I can not change the video size and things like that.

The free version of AVS will leave a watermark on all output files; you have to pay to register the program, then the watermark will be gone. Here's a few truly FREE video converters that do NOT leave watermarks on the output files (I've used each one except where noted) :
http://majorgeeks.com/Easy-Data_Mediaplayer_d6684.html (click "Tools" > "Video Converter")
    http://majorgeeks.com/Any_Video_Converter__d5692.html
    http://majorgeeks.com/EncodeHD_d6026.html (I haven't used this one personally)
    http://majorgeeks.com/Format_Factory_d6559.html
    http://majorgeeks.com/MediaCoder_d4987.html
    http://majorgeeks.com/Quick_Media_Converter_HD_d6065.html
    http://majorgeeks.com/Super_d5117.html
    http://majorgeeks.com/WinX_Video_Converter_d6191.html
    http://majorgeeks.com/XMedia_Recode_d6165.html

I would strongly suggest that you install a good complete codec pack, I personally use the KLite Mega Pack, but any good complete pack will do.

The video converter in the List called SUPPER

I have one thing to ask?
If I have an Interlaced DVD and I rip say one Title will it just keep the Interlace as same as DVD?

I have used SUPER in the past, and it works great, but IMO it's a bit slower than other programs, but then again, video converting is a slow process even with high end hardware. SUPER does NOT install viruses or malware, and I don't see how it can possibly "let things in". It does not access the internet except to check for updates, and that is easily disabled. If someone said that SUPER was responsible for a virus infection, I think it was just coincidence: they installed SUPER and shortly afterward got a virus from someplace else and then assumed that it was SUPER. It wasn't.

As to the interlacing: yes, the rip should keep the interlace, but be sure to check the settings on the ripping program. Some will have an option to enable/disable interlacing.

Thank you for geting back to me.

I am going back to Super because it works and it worked for me.

I did use it before but I don't remember any setting for Interlace or De Interlace.

Is there any way you can findout were it may be if it has any options for this?

Yes, SUPER does have Interlace/De-Interlace options.... I attached a couple of screen shots below to show how to access these settings.... when you click where indicated in the first screen shot, a 2nd window will open that looks like the second screen shot... also, notice in the 2nd screen shot that the audio volume will be increased by 12db by default. If you don't want crazy loud audio, I would suggest either disabling this feature, or turning it down from 12db to 2db or 3db.

NOTE: SUPER installs a toolbar called the "StartNow Toolbar" and it does it without asking if you want it installed!!! In my opinion, this is almost the same as infecting a PC with a virus. The toolbar is easily removed via Add/Remove Programs, but it should NOT be forced on the user.... now that I remember, this is one of the main reasons I stopped using SUPER... it was because of this sneaky toolbar installation.

DVD Decrypter has not been actively developed in a VERY long time so it may not work with newer protection schemes, but it still does decrypt the majority of commercial/retail DVDs. There are other free decrypters availbe:
http://majorgeeks.com/DVDVideoSoft_Free_Studio_d6621.html (this is a collection of 15 or 20 different multimedia programs, including a free DVD decrypter)
    http://majorgeeks.com/DVD43_d6135.html
http://majorgeeks.com/DVDFab_d5168.html (it says "Shareware", but basic DVD decrypting is totally free; the developer has several free DVD apps here; scroll down to see 'em all)
    http://majorgeeks.com/RipIt4Me_d5408.html
    http://www.bitripper.com/
I think that just about covers the free stuff that's out there..... if you need help in ripping, converting, etc, there are some GREAT forums that are dedicated to this kind of stuff:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/ (scroll down to the "Digital Video" section)
    http://forum.videohelp.com/
Those are two of the best forums that I know about that are devoted to DVD ripping and custom DVD backups. The members are very helpful, and I'm sure you will find out all you need to know in one of those forums.... good luck!

Thanks for the photos I now can get the option window to open.

I see all the check box for interlace.

The first box says De Interlace to Prograsive and it has a check in it.

The others under it like Interlace first feild and interlace bottum feild first I can not put a check in.

The check stays in Deinterlace to Prograsive why??

    I am converting VOB to MP4 H264

Since I haven't used SUPER in over 18 months, and when I did use it, I did not use the Interlacing or De-Interlacing features, I really cannot offer any help. The developer of SUPER has a support message board where you can post your question(s) and hopefully get some help there, but since the program is freeware, they don't offer a lot of quality support for it. Here's the link to the message board: http://www.erightsoft.com/Supforum.html Another excellent source for information about video conversion and DVD ripping is the "Digital Video" forum at afterdawn. Here's the link: http://forums.afterdawn.com/group_view.cfm/1

A great program for converting DVD VOB to MP4 is HandBrake. It's free open source software, and has a fairly strong user base. Maybe give it a try? I personally haven't used it, but I hear good things about it! ;) They have a forum and an online user guide that should be helpful.

    Good luck!!!

( :-o I know that linking and "promoting" other forums is generally taboo, but in this particular case I think it's OK because I think the OP would get better answers - if not, a forum mod or admin can edit my post as necessary)
