anyone know of a cage/carrier/sled for using notebook HD in desktop machines? I'm going small all the way.

The cage/carrier/sled and the adapter for 2.5 inch drives would take up just as much room as a standard 3.5 inch drive IMO. Wouldn't it?

Correct, just like any drive it needs a slot to live in, I'm not sure why you posted that.:confused

Here's one, Google for your country, just make sure if you need an IDE or SATA connector, same for the power supply connector as you may need an adapter.

LOL, a HDD floppying around!:-D Too funny! Since you got it hooked up then you're good for that carrier. At least you won't get too much heat from that 2.5".

    thx augie.

in the same vein.. you know of an adapter like this: http://www.amamax.com/sycsatomisac.html
except instead of the ancient power adapter has standard SATA power on the other end? or a "flipper". I've been searching them and finding everything except the obvious... the system [dc7600] has the standard sata power & data cables already wired in so you just pop them on the drive. either way... cable or flip/adapter.
the only adapters I've found so far are either SATA Mini -to-IDE, or these complex multi-do-it-all contraptions
