any advice on dealing with isp gone wrong?

Hi and thank you for this isle of sanity.
I have been with a small national isp for a number of years and have been satisfied till a few months ago. I have a dial-up, don't mind that, and do a lot of information researching. For the past several months have had a number of problems with them, from the accelerator to being disconnected, recently it is twice hourly. Other problems I will put into another post. Though my computer settings have not changed, and everything was fine,they are always trying to get me to turn my computer into a pretzel to accomodate them. They don't read my emails thru and reply with instructions to do what I already told them I did. Just finished hassling with them, got a supervisor with an arrogant attitude. Any advice on the best way to deal with them, and any suggestions for an isp that is national and doesn't load up one's memory?

Your complaint is similar to the experience lots of people have with lots of ISPs. It depends on the day of the week, the time of day, the phase of the moon, and whether or not there is a Zombie apocalypse occuring. In other words, sometimes you just get a bad batch of people, and sometimes you can get good service.

If you escalate your problem past the first line supervisors, you can sometimes get a satisfactory outcome. Sometimes, Like Tim said, you need to go outside the box, and become part of the vocal outrage community. And find a different ISP.
