Swallowed half a tooth.

Last Saturday the dentist said one of my wisdom teeth was cracked and I should consider having it removed. Today, I took a bite from a sandwich and got a twinge, but not much worse than usual. Then I felt a large lump go down the chute and thought uh-oh...
There's now only half a tooth to be extracted.
It was a big piece that went down and I wondered if it would be digested or what. I don't usually turn to Yahoo Answers, and after the answer I found here from Bebert I won't ever do it again.

 

Trouble is, Kestrel, I can feel those tooth trees sprouting already.

 

You can't as amateur try to locate the tooth its impossible.You must collect all your feaces for the following week into bags and give them to the receptionist at the dentist,which must be transparent for the machine to search them.

They have Tooth Marker and Investigator or "T.M.I" that will find the tooth.

The bags must also be perforated to prevent condensation from accumulating inside the bags. Condensation can throw off the accuracy of the T.M.I.

 

Of course perforated bags.

Just explain your situation to the receptionist and what has happend,he/she will probably reply " TMI ! " Say "Yes."And hand her the bags...

Get ye to a dentist soon before you get abscessed. BTW, there's 3 heavy duty roots that have to be taken out. Dentist will have to give you at least one shot, back of the mouth so not too bad. BTW, s/he will probably have to break the rest of the tooth off first, don't worry as you won't feel a thing. Good luck!

No, I've been waiting for the dental equivalent of The John Hurt Experience, so far nothing.
I have been quite hungry the last couple of days...

 

Got a "cure" for ya. Ever hear of White Castle sliders? Buy & eat 10 of them. When you get hungry again. Go to the nearest Chinese buffee. 3 plates minimul. Next time you get hungry again. Get some chili burritos from any mexican fast food place.

By the by. I did this once in a 24 hr time frame. I will never ever do this again. Went to work and driving there. I stopped @ White Castles, bought 10. After work when I woke up later. Went to a Chinese buffee. Back to work and after I got off. The wife wanted some mexican food. Stopped on the way home. I bought 4 chili burritos.

I will never ever do this again in my life time.

 

I don't mind searching for the tooth, but not with a shovel!

No idea! I've never swallowed a sweater.

'Twasn't a desire to reinstall that impelled the search. I was sure that the filling had gone with the side of the tooth. The stump left behind had jagged edges that cut the inside of my mouth when I was eating, and I had visions of that lump of metal slicing at my intestines.
Anyhow, folks, there's a happy ending to the story. No, not that happy ending... it's not back where it should be. I saw the dentist again last Friday and he put in a temporary replacement. I'm eating and drinking in the relaxed style again after many years; we did think there might be problems with other teeth near the wisdom tooth but all pain has disappeared.

 

..and deposits a coin too!:-D

 

And if the Tooth Fairy is The Rock, you better hope he is in a good mood.
