Upgrading from Win7 Starter to Win 7 Ult (32bit) on new netbook

My daughter bought a new Asus eeePC netbook. It came w/ Win 7 'starter'. She has the full version of Win 7 Ultimate (32-bit and 64-bit - was told to use 32-bit) and wants to put it on the new netbook. (Her previous netbook was a HP and handled it fine but didn't come pre-loaded w/ Win7 starter).
It seems the "paths" MS has doesn't want to 'let' her do this.

She would like to keep a few of the Asus apps - which I guess means she doesn't want to completely re-format.
Is there a way to install Win7 Ultimate without refomatting? Or, if she must re-format, is there a way to recover/re-install some of the Asus apps?

Any help would be appreciated (since I'm off today and have a little time to tackle this! :) )

Oh, also, we did upgrade the ram to 2GB from the 1GB pre-installed.

    Thanks!

    What model?
This is the Windows 7 section of the eeepc users forum (ASUS netbook owners) http://forum.eeeuser.com/viewforum.php?id=67
If you give me the model, I can probably do a better job of searching.

I own a 701 running Xandros so I'm no help on the windows end of it but I can point you to possibly helpful threads. (Yes, the plodr you see posting there is me).

    Thanks! It's a 1015PEM.
And, yeah, we've looked at Asus' info... all leading us to believe that we're going to have to do a full, clean install.
No biggie, but the question remains: can we get some of the Asus app's back?

Thanks so much for trying! I'll take your advice and post on there.
When all is 'said and done', I'll post back on here what I ended up having to do.

    Thanks again...

    We know clean install BUT
I can't answer that, that is why I referred her to the forum where posters have actually cleanly installed. No mention of what ASUS apps, if any can be "installed".

Again, all apps/drivers/etc. that originally came on the machine are on that download page. The only thing I can possibly imagine MIGHT not be on that download page is bloatware like MS Office 30 day trial, etc.

    Thanks to both of you!
I will probably go with your advice (be stupid NOT to!) and do the clean install - which was my first instinct.
Thanks as well for the links to Asus apps, etc. Good to know we can get back some of what my daughter actually wants to use.
