Take a few pic of the largest cess pool in the US. LOL. J/k I've never been, but my wife lived out there for a few years. She says the weather is nice and thats about all.

Well, just make sure they don't have mags that can hold more than ten rounds. It is always the 11'th or 14'th round that get's ya'! :-D

People seriously say "pack heat" in real life? I thought that was just in cheesy cop movies. LOL

Michigan is currently having an open carry controversity now with a group trying to get a name for themselves. They don't say carry heat, for them it's open carry.

Huh. First I've heard anything about it. I'm guessing it's not a huge controversy. :)

Going to hit thanks on this in a moment. Yes, I heard of them a couple of years ago when they go involved with Texas. Good stuff if you ask me.

Motc7 may find that its a whole different meaning to the phrase, "Are you packing"? :-D:-D

May be better to pack socks if you're going the Speedo route.

I don't know what I'd find more worrying, going on a fun road trip that requires gun or knowing that other cars drivers on the road are "packing heat.":confused

Hmmm people who are so worried about their personal safety they require a gun on their hip like a cowboy are the kind of people I wouldn't want carrying a gun, especially not near me.

Packing heat does sound a little dirty, how about strapped?

    :-D

    Enjoy the road trip motc.

I normally use the term 'carrying'. Of course, if I am open carrying, it is obvious. :-D My peeps know what carrying means.

"Hmmm people who are so worried about their personal safety they require a gun on their hip like a cowboy are the kind of people I wouldn't want carrying a gun, especially not near me."

No offense Rikky, but those people scare me less than the criminals that conceal guns.

Hmmm, reminds me of a a male friend who had a tailor who made him a suit. The tailor asked which side he carries IT, not open though. LOL That was decades ago when tight suits were the rage.

    @motc, have a great trip.

And having expanding foam injected into my nostrils then being forced into a decompression chamber scares me less than eating a pound of iron filings then falling asleep in an MRI.:)

The term used in Britain is dress, as in "Which side does Sir dress?", quaint, huh?
Dunno about MRI, Rikky, but those decompression (hyperbaric) chambers were no fun last time I tried; they had to shoot me up with a butt-cheek full of Valium to get me into the same room on the third visit.

This thread just gets weirder? We've gone from a road trip, to guns, to butt cheeks high on valium going around shooting people up :-D

I smell a story there Satrow,I'll bite:) WTH did you need to be squashed or expanded? And why did it take three attempts:-D

Oxygen therapy at 3 Bars or so - 27+psi iirc. It was about reducing a gangrene type infection, speeding up the healing process and stuff, needed the other cheek shot up with Largactil after the 3rd 'fix'; man, the pressure ... they could've cut off the afflicted limb for all I cared at that point (that's what they were threatening before they got me back in there).

Anyway, back to the forthcoming road trip (is motc7 gone already?) - watch out for the bats ;)

What if that person were properly licensed and been to a firearms safety course?

Sounds like a plan. Can we require the same training for the 1A as you suggested for the 2A? :-D:-D

Its irrelevant to me,seeing someone with a gun walking down the street is intimidating, even if its a cop and you know their intentions are good.

Would it be less intimidating if everyone were familiar with guns and they were normalised? Of course but then you have to wonder what kind of society we'd live in if everyone needed a gun everywhere they went.

I'm a guy who loves guns, but on a range or at home.If the law let me carry a gun around I would,I'd never need it and prolly end up blowing part of my future offsprings genes through my jeans but I would anyway because I'm a guy.Just so you know where I'm coming from.

Rikky, maybe you have a mild case of public hoplophobia. :-D

Sure, I love to play with guns at the range. But I consider them also like insurance. I mean, If you have car insurance, do you plan on getting in a wreak? Fire insurance for your home, do you plan on a house fire every year or so? I don't know the statistics, but I am pretty sure that 95% or more of the people who carry a gun for defense will never need it. But I am sure the 1% or 2% that wind up needing it, are glad they had it. :major

Carry a fire extinguisher a around with you then:-D

I'm pretty normal I'm not scared of anything,if I see a cop with a gun I think its awesome but in the same breath I feel a little uptight.I'm pretty sure most people feel this way, they don't parade police carrying guns around airports, public events, high profile security ect. because they don't intimidate, that's exactly the reason they are there.

To each his own view of the world. I have seen armed National Guard members at my local airport. Had either AR-15's or M-16's. I was not worried about it.

    I wasn't worried.

    T-Minus 1 day and counting.

I'm ready to get the feck out of Dodge.

I've seen them in several airports as well. I wasn't worried, but it did make me nervous as hell. Although it makes me nervous knowing that the new guy carries whatever the Army gives you when he's off playing GI Joe, also. For me, it's the fact of the gun, not the fact of the training behind it. I've seen some pretty well-trained complete idiots, and that does not bode well for the rest of us if they are also armed. :)

:-D I grew up with a cabinet full of hunting rifles. It's where I now keep my important paperwork. It's built into the wall of my house. LOL

Oddly enough while in San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf, there is a wax museum with the Governator in the front. I did a good impression of him which garnered some applause.

California was great. High's in the Central Valley barely made it to 70 each day. I couldn't even break a sweat hardly when running. San Francisco and Oakland were awesome. Fenton's Ice Cream could quite possibly be the best in the country!

Best fried prawns I ever ate on Pier 39 at a seafood stand.

Chinatown was amazing. Need about 4 days for that area alone!

Flew back on Virgin Airlines, my favorite airline now.

I don't live in an apartment. I don't wear sweaters much, but if you want to send it to my home, we can always use it for a doggie bed!! :-D:-D
