Equalizer for my M-Audio stereo speakers

I'm just using the normal W7 stock stuff that's included, no finagling with Windows Media. I need at least a balance control and an equalizer would be nice too. I have tons of music on my machine plus I'd like to have youtube stuff at least being balanced as my speakers are not equidistant from me ATM. What do you folks use?

 

You can adjust the source volume per application if you so desire. Not sure if that is what ye are wanting....

Thanks, I've tried the Windows way but no luck. Next on the block is the power mixer.
