    Hi

The jumping or juddering scrollbars are that you likely don't have the full Chipset or more so the latest graphic driver installed, but as mentioned what is the model number of your Acer Aspire. Could attach the log as per the guide below and that will give us the info, the steps to attach the log in a text file are listed in the guide.

Did you also check with Acer support fro your model Aspire than they have Windows 7 drivers available or use the Windows 7 Update Advisor to see if your model will work with Windows 7 without issues? as its possible that your model may not have drivers that will work with all hardware in that machine, may get most to work but not all.

So in Device Manager what devices have yellow ! marks next to them?

Follow the path : Start - Control Panel - Device Manager - Right click in yellow question mark - Properties - Detail tab - find the Hardware ids from the menu - select all - copy - paste ( all code here ) !! :cool

    Hi

Cheers for the model number and to try and fix the juddering in scrolling try the below

Install the Intel 940GML Chipset HERE and then reboot, important to reboot as that allows Windows to fully install the chipset, which in turn allows other drivers to install properly.

Then install the GMA 950 driver HERE reboot and see if your graphics are working ok, in scrolling etc,

Do also run Windows update again as once you have installed the Chipset its very possible that Windows Update may find some of the missing drivers you need, but installing a Windows version on an older PC can result in some drivers not being found or working properly.

But a Speccy log attached in a text file will help with other devices.
