Hooking a laptop to a monitor

So a few months ago, the screen of my laptop got demolished. All the things work perfectly fine so I hooked it up to my monitor. However, it just stopped working a few days ago (it shows a black screen after I turn on my laptop, and the light blinks off and on).Immediately, the message "signal is too weak" pops up. I've tried fixing the problem by unhooking my laptop from the VGA and re-plugging but the same black screen won't go away. Is there a solution to this problem?

Does the same thing happen when you boot into safe mode?

A weak signal is likely a faulty VGA cable. I'd suggest trying a different cable, maybe a better quality one (I'm guessing you went for the cheapest possible, or it came with the monitor).

It won't display anything anymore. Whever I try to boot it up, the screen won't show anything. The power button is flashing off and on.

    I'll try that.
