I am running win7 now, but have my old XP SP3 CD. I would like to extract notepad and paint, as I prefer the look/feel of these, but cannot seem to locate them on the CD.

I would rename them to say "xp notepad", and keep them in the x-86 folder.

Any suggestions? I know the apps will run on a win7 box, have done it before when I copied the exe files from another computer: XP > Win7, but was thinking my CD has them in some hidden place I cannot seem to find.

I know about better/replacement apps, notepad++ etc., but want these old relics :)

    Any help appreciated...

PM's should not be used for exchanging info on fixes for issues. No one learns anything that way. :major
