I have windows 7 and I am the only user, I have one user account
How do I make it so I never ever see that log on screen, where I have to hit my ONLY account(no password) so the computer continues to load or doesnt make me have to hit the LOG on square again?

the log on screen is below, cept mine only has one user

so this will make the computer never go to the log on screen, even, as now, I walk away and come back and I must log back on?

You can't stop it. You need to also be running as a Limited User profile, not as a administrator. The biggest complaint people had with Microsoft, was security, when they started to design 7, even though security was inherent with XP & vista. I use a password to protect my data and my machine, even though it is in the house 24/7 and never leaves. It takes a couple of seconds to log back in, whether the machine is asleep, or a minute after booting up from a complete shutdown.

I never use hibernate, because MS has never gotten it right when they introduced it with XP, and tried to fix it with XP-SP2.

why run with a limited user profile? I thought that was to prevent ease of malware/etc to getting on your computer.
I dont recall this problem with XP, in my capactity of using computers, I havent found a single thing easier with vista or 7...was I supposed to? or does the average computer user do a lot more with their computer other than word documents, internet, and lame games?

in fact I dont see "progress" with anything, outside of the medical world, Iphone 1 vs Iphone 4 isnt progress....Ipod touch or Ipad isnt progress, its just faster ways for me to waste time poking you on facebook or tagging you in pictures where you are talking on your iphone.

    Hey watchntv,

    go to control panel/power options.
click on the Require a password on wakeup link located on the top left.
select the Don't require a password option.

You're right, but I'm confused as to why the OP posted a login screen of Windows XP when there are plenty of pictures of Windows 7 login screens too.

The only way to limit/prevent malware from infecting you machine, is by not going to sites that could infect, download attachments from email from people, running a active scanner to scan everything that comes through your machine, and also for any devices that may be attached.

Running your machine without a password, is like leaving your front door open to allow everyone in the hood to just walk in and look around at what you have. The reason for having a password is to keep people out of your machine that you do not want to, when you are in an environment where there are roommates, family members, siblings, co-workers, that you do not need messing around with your files, or accessing without your permission.

i run Microsoft essentials/ccleaner and avoid sites that are iffy; porn/etc.
I dont download things,. unless it's from someone I know and then it's doc files

I am not worried about my roommate, although he tends to run around in the buff, lacks a job, his lack of basic English and reliance on me to give him food/water/walked, he just loves me too much to do more than play tetris on my computer...although I come home and the TV is turned on to ANIMAL planet occasionally does concern me.

I mainly run Firefox with the Web of Trust add-on to help keep up on possible baddy sites. I run Comodo Internet Security though instead of essential, due wanting more layering on my security on my Netbook. Our desktop runs essentials though, but try to get the kid to use Firefox instead of Internet Explorer. He does do a good job of watching where he is going on the web, so that I do not have headaches trying to clean up the messes, unlike when he was younger.

Our dog though, loves to speak back, and will tell you off, if she does not like you telling her no.
