When was the last time you had this feeling? I remember it well from being a kid, when you have a full day to yourself with no commitments and you can indulge in anything you please.

    Know what I'm talking about?

I haven't had this feeling since I was in my early teens then all of a sudden I've started getting it again, getting up early seeing the sun shining and thinking to myself "Hmmm what should I do today?"

Anyone still get this feeling? When was the last time you felt like that, just happy and excited thinking about all the possibilities a the proceeding day could bring?

Maybe its seeing the summer sun in the morning I dunno.:confused No Tim I'm not on any new medication:-D

TBH Rikky, I had this feeling for a long time today after both a medical and business meeting this morning, ok it may have been that I was still asleep as the meetings do start at 8am, but it was more the 2nd business meeting which was on my pay grade, that made me think that while we where going through what I do, was to think.... mmmm actually anythings possible as I can do that and do do that!

So while I had thought my pay grade meeting would be a wipeout, it was better than thought, so your title of post rings true for me today.

    What a great post Rik.

For me it is the same. When you wake up and there are no commitments, no daily grind stuff... in other words, rarely anymore. There is just too much you have to think about...do...as an adult, parent, spouse.

I think the last time was when I went to see my sister in Dallas months ago and it was just me. It was a nice feeling.

Day to day is good too, but sometimes that feeling of taking a deep breath is very much needed.

I don't think I've had that feeling... yet. Possibly ever.

Ok, that exaggerating, but it's been a crappy go of it lately. It's refreshing to know that feeling still exists out there, since I was sincerely beginning to doubt it.

Too many replies:-D You can all have thanks:p Nah here goes

I can imagine it was pretty troubling especially with the recession in its second dip,I wouldn't have slept the night before.

Whiskey and morning sun don't mix well Augie:-D

There's no drug that can cure what I have:-D Maybe a few mg of ricin?

I guess you have to have balance?Doing nothing all day and having no responsibilities at all is as soul destroying as having too many, I've been there. Keeping myself busy with projects and stuff over the last couple of years is what's dragged me out of the cycle of vegging out in front of the TV or computer every spare minute I had.

    Hang in there Laura:cool

I guess you could simplify it it to when was the last time you wanted to get out of bed to do something, anything instead of dreading getting up thinking about the crap you have to do and wanting a couple more hours in bed?:zzz For me it always seemed like I was getting up because I couldn't stay in bed any longer due to boredom or it swung the other way didn't really want to get up just due to the thought of what I had to do.

Ever feel excited when you were kid just as you were waking up just so you could go downstairs and watch some Toons or something?

Gaming used to do that with me also as a kid,I just wanted to get up and bang some video games on,try to get past the bit I was stuck on,never really get that these days.

On a similar note what about the excitement of waking up while on a family holiday? I used to want to jump out of bed get some breakfast and run straight to the beach or swimming pool.

I doubt there'll be another moment in my life I feel that kind of pure happiness, other than having seeing my newborn child or getting divorced?

I have had days that feel good to be alive and no commitments, but they are a rarity nowadays, I'll admit. Usually when once every few weeks, I actually get a free day, I just feel so knackered from the previous few weeks, all I wanna do is veg out :-D.

Yeah rikky it was a sleepless night but not due to worrying about pay, as well I know public service sector is hit hard at present, but more due to how I was going to speak and promote myself in the best light as you have to get the wording right to portray all you do in a job.

I think I did that and have a meeting next Friday to go over the details, but as my dept is unique in the NHS in generating ££££ (pharma pay us for running projects) over sucking them up, I'm in a good position.

    Indeed :)

I think it must be those days when I'm not bogged down with the daily grind stuff and I wake up feeling productive and as a result get lots done ... Thats when it feels the best.

So I'm totally getting your DIY days Rikky.

I think its just the way I've started to look at things:confused I used to thing "Damn the lawn needs mowing, the garden needs rotivating, the roof needs fixing ect." now I think "Yes a project!" I like projects but usually only when its something I'm directly interested in like electronics, computers or engineering.

I think I've just started seeing all projects in the same light, even stupid things like cleaning the dust off TV:confused

Maybe I'm getting old or something,I guess I now understand why my grandparents and older people I know appeared to relish doing little chores.
