The witcher 2 is now downloaded. Took a bit, since I was playing RIFT. Time to give it a shot. :) Witcher that is.

Try Homefront. It's ok as a FPS, good graphics, though it's a closed system as far as user made maps are concerned. And the mulitplayer version is quite fun.

L.A. Noire. GTA meets Raymond Chandler, to the tunes of an early Hitchcock soundtrack. :)

well currently I'm playing carpenter at work ;). But when I get home I'll be playing DAD, and when he goes to bed, I'll be mashing The Witcher 2. I've read it has 16 different ending. Can't wait. :cool

Oh, how is L.A. Noire? The gamplay kinda seemed like Heavy Rain.

The investigation part is similar, but with different goals and objectives... but there's car chases and shooting, and chasing down suspects on foot as well. The facial expressions are the best I have ever seen and the voice acting absolutely brilliant. Groundbreaking, almost. You use facial expressions and tone of voice as clues when questioning suspects and witnesses.

It's an awesome game. Good characters, like in all Rockstar games. :)

I'll have to try it out. Are there any different ending or different chars? I enjoyed heavy rain, I wish I'd have kept it, maybe even played it again. It just seemed like the replayability of wouldn't have worked since you all ready knew the killer.

I'm on to S.O.C.O.M. 4 and back to NCAA football 11'. Socom is good, very tough if your not use to commanding squad members, it took me quite a few deaths to get the hang of it. Alot more realistic in difficulty than any of the MW's. As for NCAA 11' football. Well it's the same old same old football game. It's amazing how many people play these games year aftet year after year, all the same. I've had it for months but prob not spent 10 total hours playing itm, til' this weekend. And tonight, I'll be starting on the Witcher 2. Got it last night, but wanna finish socom 4 first, which I did last night. :cool And after The witcher 2 I'll be on to L.A. noire

Socom 4 has single player again then?

I am going to have seriously think about getting a new PS3, too many good games comming out that I'm missing out on :(

Although I've decided I'm going to load up the Witcher and actually play more than 6 hours of it this time. Then once finished I will grab Witcher 2 which is looking pretty good, but I want to play the 1st one through first, I know it's not really needed but I want to.

I might do that this afternoon since I have a day off, well sort of, got some running around to do but when I get home I will give it a shot.... providing I have enough room on my drive to install it lol

I gave The witcher a look, but did not seem to keep my interest. I'm curious about 2 tho. currently im subbed for a while in rift, and have pretty much been playing that exclusively. It's only my 2nd mmo, 1st was age of conan, so I'm still in the learning phase.

Really looking forward to battlefield 3. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 made me a convert from the Call of Duty franchise.

Probably gonna checkout Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad. A pc only first person shooter, those are rare these days.

Just had to say, I finished TW2 (twice), but was left with the feeling of incompleteness (I know, sequel) where as with the original, I was left with some satisfaction and anticipation for the sequel. I'm now playing the original again and I must say, I find it a bit more enjoyable than TW2. Both have their pros/cons but it seems TW gives more bang for the buck when it comes to content. I am a glutton for graphics, but that's just part of the bigger scheme. The Witcher is the better of the two for me.

I finished Homefront (PC) shortly after it came out. It's a decent game, but it's just too short. I think I finished it completely in about 5 hours. That's in single player offline mode; if it has an online mode, that might make it more worth the price, but I felt ripped off - I already uninstalled it and gave it to a friend.

I just started playing the new Duke Nukem Forever (PC) and it's a hoot!!! I'm at the part where Duke gets shrunken down to about 10" tall and is driving around in a little gas powered RC-type dune buggy!! Too much fun!

Looking forward to BF3 (BF2BC was AWESOME!) and REALLY looking forward to the new Serious Sam 3 due out this summer? fall? SS3 has been "in the works" for at least 5-6 years if you count the time when the first 'serious' rumors started.... about 18 months ago they posted that is close to being finished.... hmmmm.....

Totally agree. For me TW2 was more like TW 1.5 Beta.
To avoid spoilers I`ll generalize and say there were too many broken/undeveloped sub plots and even a completely missing npc in one path; it felt like a 75% completed game.
Plus the QTE's wrecked immersive gameplay and by the time I`d figured out how to disable them the moment was lost; suspension of disbelief IG blown away by 12 yr old nintendo DS spamming :(
I`m so still a fan..but it so needs it's enhanced edition even more than the original..if they had not spent so much time and effort fixing things that weren't broken, like alchemy that you could really extend damage/duration/No of taken (!!?), they might have produceed a game that was registerable and playable on release :-D
I wonder that the reason their own community forums are still not back is for fear of flaming...it seems the majority of mods are attempting to correct /rebalance those game areas...hands up who else chose the original dice set ? :-D

    In case it helps :)

I just saw a preview of the new "Dead Island" due out in early Sept 2011 (USA). For those of us that enjoy killing zombies and making the biggest bloodiest dismembered mess possible, this is the game for us!!! It looks like a TON of gore-ish fun!!!

    Check it out here: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/dead-island/video/6318681/dead-island-e3-2011-stage-demo
(you're likely going to get an advert of some type at first -maybe20-30sec, but it is shortly followed by a great game demo with a voice-over interview with one of the game developers)

It really looks awesome and this game is TOTALLY my type of disgusting destructive zombie-shredding bloodbath . . . . uhhhhh . . . errrr . . . . :-o :innocent - I mean it's my type of happy family game night with cookies, milk, hugs, and smiles all around. LOL

It is due out in North America on Sept 6 2011 . . . I will be awake from Sept 7 until Sept 15 2011, or until all zombies are dead!

    ENJOY!

Started playing Champions Online. After making a carbon copy of The Punisher and calling him Castle, i think im hooked.

Also bought a crap ton of steam games on a sale day.

Magicka--son bought it so i did too. Interesting for sure, action mage rpg lite, action heavy.

Eschelon 1 and 2--had NO clue what to expect and was pleasantly suprised. Old Skool Rpg in the vein of Diablo crossed with Baldurs Gate. A VERY steep learning curve and pretty unforgiving sometimes but wicked fun. Im amazed at the depth of character and depth of some of the alchemy you can do for such an old skool type game.....and lets face it for a total of about 4.98 for both at the time, i could have bought a few packs of gum and had a lot less fun lol

Fallout New Vegas--15 buck sale= No brainer as FO 3 was one of my favorite games in quite a few years. New Vegas has a few changes that i think make it a bit tougher to play, but overall still a great game. They could just throw new stories at me with the same engine and id be fine with that.

Spiral Knights--havent actually played it yet, but some friends were playing it one day and its free so i said screw it and downloaded it.

Terraria--wow, such a simplistic LOOKING game but damn is there a ton of depth to it. Although once you find everything, if your not into building new structures and stuff in 2d.....it does get a bit boring. If i had to choose between this and Minecraft....which i dont since i now own both.....id play Minecraft.

Sanctum--son bought me a copy of this as he bought a four pack for 15 bucks. Yes a 4 pack for 15. So again, one i havent gotten to yet but those i know who have played it, love it.

It was a sale on steam but dont get too dissapointed yet. I just incurred a huge bug where it cant save to quicksave and cant see my named files that ive saved. Not sure if ive lost any saves, they may just be invisible in the save screen.

I put over 20 hours into one char and 5 into 3 others(per char) so yeah im just a bit miffed about that. =( If i had paid the 15 to 20 bucks for this game it sells for regularly, id be pissed.

I will say though, the depth for such a simple looking game is outrageous.

Edit- seems as though the problem lies in quicksaving repeatedly. If you do get the game, vary between quicksaves and manual saves. It deletes the slot 1 needed for quicksaves if you save too much. so just saving blindly to the bottom manually, then adding slot1 back into the eshalon savegame folder, brings back the savegame list.

thank god for forums and complaints lol

I dunno, i have the game but stopped playing it after i found that my older pc couldnt handle it. Now that i have a new(ish) one i found that i just couldnt be bothered even playing that game.

that said, ive been given a 6 core processor and additional vid card by my son, who works for AMD, so i might hit up all the old games that i could just barely, or not, play again.

I don't know about the rain, but stay out of the polar regions! I hear some people aren't able to leave! Oh wait, that was a different game wasn't it?! :-D

I've finally gotten 'round to playing Oblivion (was packed away for a long time after moving). Also still playing a bit of Plants vs Zombies and still figuring out alternate strategies in some parts of the game.

Also still fiddling around with Defense Grid: The Awakening. Looking forward to Batman: Arkham Asylum which I purchased on sale at Steam some weeks back but haven't started on yet. And oh, I'm playing through Doom 3 yet one more time. I've never actually quite finished it and I bought the Redemption pack (Doom 3 and Redemption were also on sale at you-know-where)) which I've yet to play.

I do lots more gaming during the winter and I buy computer games faster than I can complete them (even allowing for the "dawgs" that I don't like) so I always seem to get farther and farther behind. Like books -- which has gotten even worse since my wife gave me a Kindle for my b'day recently.

Computer games and books! Yeeeeaaahhhhhhh! (And mp3's and CD's too!)

Tried playing The Witcher again and quickly realized that it wasnt the only the old PC why i stopped playing it.

Its a first or third person shooter MMORPG, which also has skills that you have on a taskbar like other MMO's(wow, runes of magic etc) but its set in a post apocalyptic world akin to Fallout. Its a bit more "action oriented" IE--you actually have to aim to hit things. It can take a bit of getting used to but its not real hard to figure out. (if i can do it, everyone here can). You can melee or shoot or use Telekinesis or some other combat types i am sure. Ive just started playing and i really dont know a whole lot about it. I do know that it was failing as a pay for play MMO and G1(gamers first) has begun to take control of it and they have other free to play MMO's like APB Reloaded and one of my favorites 9Dragons. (and quite a few more actually)

Heres a link to the Fallen Earth site---

    http://www.gamersfirst.com/fallenearth/

The talk in game was they were going F2P by the end of the year. If you read up on it, it seems like they may go free before that. I actually misread some info and thought it was already free but apparently at the moment, if you download the game, youll be in a 14 day trial. (this is what i had been told in game by another player who seemed to know as much as a GM would)

If anyone ends up trying it, my chars name is, what else, Blatherbeard! ;)

I am not currently playing anything. I just got beating Dead Space 2(7 times) and I gotta say that it is rare that I really click with a game, and this was one of them. Story wise there are only 3 games I have ever really enjoyed the stories.........Metal Gear, Dead Space, Gears Of War.........I have played many others, but that is only because I liked the game play.

The three games I am really wanting to play aren't out yet.

Halo 5? Hated the story of the prequel halo 4 even though game play was better. Hoping the story is better in Halo 5. I will stop playing a game if the story is too bad. That is why I kept playing Halo 3, cause the story wasn't bad(not great).

Gears of War 3: Such a sad but awesomely epic series.

Ace Combat Assault Horizon: Now this is going to be interesting. The creators say that they added to the game, but usually that means they tweaked the hell out of it and it might actually loose it's appeal. I love just flying around in those games more than anything. I will spend an hour trying to kill an easy target just because I want to do it with a super twisty turn double back flip type thing:-D. Don't know.........
