slow computer

i don't think it is the vodafone app as i have completely uninstalled vodafone and unplugged the dongle from its usb port, but still every time i start up, my laptop starts searching for a network connection and runs slow untill it informs me that there is no connection available and then it runs fine untill the next start up,it takes about 2 mins to decide wether there is or is not a connection, i would be grateful for more help, thankyou.

 

Start - Run ( write msconfig ) - go in sixth tab which said Startup - from the list uncheck some boxes - Apply - ok - restart your machine , after that the system will be more quickly !!

 

Might be a good idea to be more specific on that, otherwise blindly unchecking things might lead to more problems.

solaris89 , you are right , i meant some programmes boxes like pdf , antivirus et cetera , i think it's a wise idea finding what is the ploblem !! :cool

many thanks to the people who replied to my thread "slow computer" i took your advice and looked in startup services and found it was the rip listener(whatever that is).It now runs good as new, so, again many thanks to those who replied,and,of course to major geeks for helping me sort this problem.
