After closing IE8 browser, iexplorer is still running in Task Manager and can not kill the process. Even tried with procexp.exe. When I reboot pc I get a popup see attachment.
I have ran scans with Avast! Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware and TrendMicro Housecall online scanner, no viruses or spyware. Turned off add-ons.

Can we just rule out any possibility of misinterpretation here? You say 'iexplorer' is still running, but there is no such process. There are however two quite similarly named processes - explorer and iexplore. The latter should not show in task manager if IE has been closed, but the former - explorer(.exe) - will always be running and you cannot close it. That is normal.

No misinterpretation. Yes it "iexplorer.exe" process still running in the Task Manager and cannot be terminated/killed.

iexplorer.exe - with an r at the end - is not a Windows process. In Windows (all versions) there are only iexplore.exe and explorer.exe, so either you are misreading it or you have an intruder o board.

yeah it appears to be malware from what i can see googling....

You best get over to the malware forum and go through the sticky :)

OK, I apologize. Yes it is iexplore.exe. Why I kept adding an r at the end I don't know.
It hasn't been doing it this afternoon, I'll wait a bit longer and see what happens.
    Again, sorry. :-o

you may just want to correct the subject and put a red note at the bottom of your original post to make people aware you made a mistake so they dont get too confused or mislead

VoiD, you can only edit your posts for about 10 minutes on this forum so luckyvic has NO WAY to change the thread title nor edit any of his previous posts.

Our eyes don't always see what's actually written do they, but often see what they are expecting to see. Bit like predictive texting really ;) Anyway, thanks for the feedback.

Actually, for computer use, the best glasses I've found are a weak pair of all reading glasses. With my bifocals, I have to keep my chin up so I look through the lower lens.
