on today's (jim henson) google icon, i can only get 5 of the 6 to move. blue guy on the left won't budge.

others experiencing same?

 

I don't even see it, I've just got the regular Google logo.

 

It was there yesterday for me, now it is just the normal Google logo

Their eyes follow your cursor and other things happen but I discovered them by accident and don't know what I did.
The guy with the glasses, his glasses will jump off his head.
The guy on the far right will eat the guy beside him with the long neck (seriously)

The 500 miles video is a classic and the Monty Python spam video is a hoot.
Some videos didn't work for me because EMI won't let me view them on copyright grounds. EMI slogan = BAH HUMBUG

odd, seeing how google's based in PT...any chance the rollover is midnite LOCAL TIME for everyone seperately?

aniwe, where can i find some archived version of the doodle, so i can still try out those other features? i'm surprised the article doesn't link to one.

Logos and Doodles
You can go to Google Logos but the site is about a week behind, interactive doodles have a link next to the name. You can also use the Search box on the left to find the logo or doodle you want.

Google time difference
When you go to another country and just type in www.google.com you will automatically get the local Google in the local language which can be changed to English. The searches do tend to favor local interests and places which is a good thing normally.
If you travel a lot and don't want the local Google then set a Google Bookmark to the following address. When you click on the bookmark the resulting address will not have /ncr at the end so you must write (copy/paste) it in the bookmark.

I don't know what ncr stands for but I will take a wild guess and say No Country Recognition.

what was the deal on the halloween logo? i got some scene (bunch o' pumpkins, i think) with that little "play" arrow in front; i.e., some kind of VIDEO. and yet, when i clicked on it, all it did was run a search on "happy halloween". it also changed the logo to the one seen HERE: http://www.google.com/logos/ but since the page also changed to SEARCH RESULTS, it was only a tiny version, up to the left of the search box. frankly, i couldn't even tell WHAT it was.

at the very least, i suspect this "faux video" was supposed to toggle uncarved pumpkins into these halloween pumpkins, but that doesn't work if the entire PAGE LAYOUT also changes. do i have some weird setting for my search results? do others not have this pre-results (search box center of page) vs. results (search box way up high) distinction?

otherwise, what was the point of this halloween logo? did anyone find an ACTUAL video on that video link?

that said, what governs the BEAK and the EYES? doesn't seem to be connected to either click OR hover. unless it's some complex relationship, like the "every 5th time" i mentioned before.

also, i say yesterday's turkey-HAND logo back this afternoon, after it had SWITHED OVER to the clickable turkey. what the...?? do they REUSE these?
