Bing it!(MS);) A decent search engine that bundles results. I like it better than Google for that exact reason! Plenty of similar others too.;):major

I use google, it generally works well for me. I know a few like Bing. You might try that.

I hate how if your signed into Youtube then go to Google your signed into your Google account.

But I'm sure a large do no evil company like Google would use targeting advertising or doctored search results based on your Youtube viewing.rolleyes

And yeah Tony I've noticed the quality of Google search results seriously dropping off as of late, multiple repeated pages that are from different dates, have slightly different address's but are through the same site or the same page hyper linked through other sites.

It does seem like the pages that contain information related to what your looking for no longer have any chance of being viewed anymore and Google is now totally reliant on hit count and linking as if your being constantly homed in on the pages Google wished you to view.

I dunno if anyone else has noticed this 'more so' recently?

I saw an article about Google search results once that explained how Google's results are never the best possible results they suck just enough to make the most money,I would guess they have decided to simply make more money.

All unfounded Rant speculation of course:-D

    Agree with LauraR.:)
Although I have lots of Search engines that I could use, 95% of the time the first couple of links in Google find what I am looking for.
Not very often do I have to go past #1 page.

    Sorry, http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=23813 is a Typo. :(

According to current statistics, Yahoo Search is number two in popularity after Google.

Google is good but not that good as its search is not directed as it could be Bing is better but not perfect by a long shot, the types of search engines you "may" liek are clustering types like Yippy (used to be called Clusty), they help narrow down the search to specifics using the left hand cloud menu.

Microsoft did have a test clustering search engine that disappeared, sadly it was superb so I can only hope that some aspects of it may enter bing at some point.

A graphically weird search engine that links sites etc is http://www.touchgraph.com/seo try it (uses Java, so have latest version) it uses relationships in sites and info.

Fantastic tips and tricks mjnc, cheers for posting.

I'm at present using a Windows Mobile 7 version (mango) of Bing Search and its voice controls are superb for just saying "local weather" and you get local weather.

Is this not what computing should be like for the desktop also?

Personally, I love google. I've spent many hours viewing far away places like Japan, Italy, and South Africa with the use of google maps/street view. It's really cool that I can see what places look like that I'll probably never get to see in person.

That Street View is really amazing.
In fact, it's a little eerie.
I put in my address, and saw my car in the parking lot. rolleyes

I could see my mother's house or my brother's house a couple thousand miles away.
A little like Big Brother and 1984.

I bet nobody ever imagined that when they first heard Sputnik's first beep, beep, beep. ;)
