I need anger management

Yesterday my internet/dsl kept flickering on and off which was positively annoying but I dealt with it by just staying off until it came back on for good. Today, it back on but impossibly slow. It's taking an average of 5-10 per page to load which is absolutely maddening!

According to speedtest.net I'm 0.05mbps/0.13mbps (download/upload) when I'm promised at least 1mbps. I want to scream and preferably punch something and it's taking all my effort not to do either (which is why I need anger management lol). Guess I will have to call the bozos tomorrow which will probably result in more frustration and punching. Wish me luck! ...that I don't kill anyone LOL

You could always kill a bottle of wine, tequila, vodka or whatever you have in the house in the meantime.:-D

Hehehe, that's what I'd do but she doesn't drink.;)

What? These bozos don't work on weekends, at least to log a problem or try and help you remotely? What a crappy customer service!

I'd say getting angry about that is pretty ()^%$##$@'IN normal. LOL

Try turning the modem power OFF or unplug the power cord for a minute.

Sometimes I go to Network Connections, right click the active connection and then click Repair.

Hope those support folks speak English Clearly. rolleyes

Punching is always good for blowing off steam...... - NOT condoning violence here... LOL Grab a couple pillows, whack the heck out of 'em.

I have a Heavy Bag set in my barn always good for an anger mood. (Except for when you can't find the gloves, makes anger worse).

As Augie said, I don't drink but I killed off the rest if the ice cream LOL

Haha.. Good to know I'm not the only that gets angry :-D.. Since I was thinking clearly this evening, I tried all the tricks I know before calling them because I REALLLLLLLLLLY didn't want to. Luckily for me, powering off the modem/unplugging it for a few minutes actually fixed it. So no having to deal with incompetent tech people and I get to keep all my pretty hair in my head. :-D

Sure you aren't :innocent You know we are like 2 peas in a pod LOL

So crisis averted and nothing is broken.. until next time ;)

It's only violence if you actually hit a person. If you hit an object, it's therapy. ;)

I was thinking how great it would be to have one of these installed at the bar where I work. We could regularly dip out and have a pop at that thing everytime a customer made us angry :-D:-D:-D (Which is quite often)

If it is because of too much on your mind, music that fits your mood and drowns out the voices, combined with a long relaxing bath, is surprisingly effective. :)

When my daughter was a young teen she came home from school very angry and upset. Gave her an umbrella and a pillow and told her to smack it as hard and often as she could. After blowing off steam she was ready to talk about what bothered her so much. :)

Speaking from my own experience, you DO have to be careful about WHAT you hit and what you are hitting WITH. ;)

It's too easy to Break something ............ at Either End. :-o :-D

Sounds like pretty good parenting skills. ;)

I have had a similar experience Dy, I had a guy round concerning my electricity account (thats another story) it turns out he was a salesman for the company and they also did internet.
My ISP was giving me 60mps unlimited broadband, cable TV and telephone service but at a cost of $90 per month, so this guy offers me 16mps (but it never got above 1.5mps) unlimited broadband, satellite TV and telephone at $55 per month which was a great saving so after some discussion i signed on the dotted line.
About 2 weeks later the engineer calls to install it all and he says that the telephone will take another 3 to 4 days to get the line up and running, so when after 2 weeks i still had no phone i called the ISP to ask what the problem was only to be told "no problem it is being sorted" a further 2 weeks and no phone plus when the weather was bad the TV signal would drop out sometimes for 30 minuets or so I got back onto the ISP (with my wifes mobile) and could not get past the help line operator with the same message as before.
To make this a bit shorter it all went on for 3 months so i sent a letter to head office detailing all the faults (3 pages) and said i was terminating the contract as 'unfit for purpose'.
You can imagine how angry i was and really needed ti hit something.
The bottom line is that "if it looks too good to be true it probably is" and i had to eat humble pie to get back with my original ISP.

Omg! I really have to go get that game. I want to kill zombies too! :-D

I'm sorry, but I find it very rational to get very angry when your internet is slow. No anger management needed. LOL

@ Bill, I feel your pain. I had someone come to my door today about switching and I told them I flat out wasn't interest. She asked to see the bill from my current provider and if I still got paper bills (I do it all electronically) I surely wouldn't show it to her. She left rather dejectedly :-D

Thanks, Laura.. that makes me feel a lot better. This whole thread has definitely been a pick me up LOL

I find shooting a few hundred rounds at the range helps with anger. I always leave with a big :-D!

Also, having an inanimate object to take our your anger is very good. Lets you blow off steam with out breaking anything, or hurting anyone.

    Thanks guys!

It was much fun! It's been something I've been wanting to do for a LOOOONG time. My boss likes to go shooting a lot and has a variety of rifles and pistols and he told me he would show me. I didn't know it would be in the office until I saw him setting up targets in the hallway LOL He was a good teacher and we all had a lot of fun. Want to do it again soon! (maybe not so much in the hallway :-D )

If it were that easy, I'd be more than happy to help out but I can't keep up.. too dumb LOL

Good shooting, Dy. Why don't I have a work place where I can shoot stuff up :major.
The bullet hole in the Osama target's mouth makes it look like he's smoking a cigarette. The one on his nose just looks like a big booger :booger LOL!

Thanks.. my boss is way coool :cool :-D

My friend, who was shooting for the first time too, shot osama squarely in the forehead the first time and that's when I decided I don't want to ever piss HIM off, especially if he's holding a rifle LOL
