Is a Linksys wrt54gl wireless router what I need?

I have Wildblue Internet ( Dish network) as my ISP so i have a dish outside and a modem inside. My wife has a 1 year old Dell laptop with a wireless adapter in it and she wants to use it anywhere in the house so I see this Linksys wireless router on craigslist for $30.00 with the software ,box,cables.
Will this Linksys get her laptop working wireless on our Dish ISP?
I hate to admit this but I already spent $40.00 on a Linksys wireless bridge from Craigslist that the seller swore it would get her laptop working wireless using our Dish ISP. Thanks in advance for your help....

 

Looking at Wildblue's support FAQ, you should be able to put the router in the mix for wireless capabilities. Normal network set up is to take an ethernet cable from the modem to the router and then on to next device. You should be able to ask Wildblue' support people if there are any special procedures or limits on hardware that you need to follow.

...and forget Craigslist, just go get a wireless router at any local store. It may cost you $10 more but you're then assured of quality. I equate Craigslist with scammers, at least for computer parts.

 

Thanks for the answers i needed to get wireless in my home....A friend at work said he will buy my Linksys bridge for $30.00 so i lost 10.00 on that deal. It wasn't the money as much as the scammer saying it was what i needed.....
