People earning a nick name because of where they live/come from
Liverpool – Liverpudlian - Scouser
Newcastle – (apart from nitwit) Geordie :wave Dave
Wigan – Pie Eater
Widnes – Woolyback.

 

Technically, Liverpudlian is just what you are if from Liverpool, like English.

I'm from Norfolk = Carrot Cruncher - Country Bumpkin etc.

But what was the point of this thread anyway? Just for people to name some?

That could be interesting from around the globe and not just British.

The town I live it doesn't really have any I don't think, the next town over does but most of them I can't post and maintain forum decorum :-D

You Assies and UK'rs are funnny, have a name for everything. We've got nothing like that in Canada that I know of except for the dislike of the French here and vice versa against the English speaking pop. I don't think it's appropriate to repeat those here.
