Folders missing from Firefox's "Save As" window

This is strange... I fired up my computer this morning to discover that Firefox, quite randomly, no longer has the left-side navigation structure in its Save As window. It's not that the pane is hidden or missing; the pane itself is there, it's just completely empty. All the usual folder icons and directory tree just aren't there-- see the attached image for a screenshot. As far as I can tell nothing else in Windows is affected... Explorer and everything else looks fine.

Any idea why this would've happened, and what to do to fix it?

(I'm running Windows 7 64-bit with Firefox 7.0.1.)

Hi mate

you could uninstall FF and re - install FF again , the FF is very crazy these days , are you checking your machine with antivirus ? :wave

 

No joy on both counts... Computer is clean with no viruses. Uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox had no effect; the "no folders" problem persists. IE's save as still has them, and since Explorer's still fine, the only thing I can think of is that something in the registry went AWOL and is causing it, like there's a setting somewhere that toggles whether those folders are shown or not, but I'd have no idea where to look.

It occured to me to post the same message over at Mozilla's forums; maybe they've seen this before and know what to do. =\

Are you checking your machice with advance tools like
