newbie from tennessee

HELLO :wave...i live in a very rural area & only satellite internet is available to me @ present...speed is fairly decent compared to dialup but wondered if there were any tips to make it run faster? thx in advance

 

I'm in SE TN as well, and that is the only thing I can get here. I haven't gotten it because of my gaming, and the latency, but hopefully AT&T will be ready soon.

 

Hi, welcome to Major Geeks. Programs that claim to speed up a connection are garbage, you are only going to get the speed that your ISP sets for you from the package you are paying for. It'll get temporarily slower due to a number of issues but it won't get faster. I've seen plenty of threads here over the years with people having connection issues after trying speed-up programs. Just my opinion, but I'd steer clear of them.
