From your gigabyte link have you gone to the downloads tab entered your OS and tried the Realtek LAN Driver ver.7.046 (that is your ethernet adapter driver)?

You don't need to OC that beast at all and it will last you longer than mine probably will. Anyways OC'ing busts all kind of warranties.
I set Windows update to 'notify only' as I have to have my machines running 24/7 without their interference as they can't re-start my system as it was.

Augie...OK...I finally got a night where I could run the OCCT program...(still running).

Now, what am I looking for? or how do i post results??

OK guys...me again...everything has been good with this computer so far..surfing net and gaming--i have no complaints...

Problem i found tho...As i was begining to move my wifes pictures to my computer from her camera, I notice that everything was getting saved on the SSD...And that when I go to "my computer" I do not see the hard drive...When the machine starts up, on one of the black screens with writing on it, it shows both of the drives listed--so its there right? how do i find it and make it the default drive to download too?

Your machine passed the torture test if you stopped OCCT manually after some time has passed, like 5 minutes. Usually a machine will die before that. No need to post the results as you didn't mention an auto shutdown. Good news for your machine.:cool

I'm not sure where the camera software downloaded the pics to, did you format the SSD drive yet since it's recognized by BIOS ? The SSD is not the boot drive, correct? Cameras have their own identifier so search for that if they're not in your 'Pictures' folder.

To format the SSD go to Control Panel/ System Security/ Administrative Tools/ Computer Management/ Storage/ Disk Management where you will see your SSD as probably with a black bar above it(means unallocated), right click on that and format it. It will then appear as a regular drive.

There's probably a shorter way to get there but that's my way.;)

    OK auggie...

yes when i go to disk management the ssd has a blue line...

I see the hhd..."system reserved" is the name of it? 100mb of it is blue line...the other 930gb's is a blck line?

    make sense?

Hmm, so you're booting off of your SSD then, correct? The 100MB 'reserved' is an emergency recovery partition for W7 and one can't boot from that alone. I'm :confused At any rate, format your remaining 930MB HDD partition for starters as that's not being seen by your machine as being available in Explorer correct?

It's damn weird to see the recovery partition on a non boot hard drive.:confused Are you sure you can't see your SSD? The machine is booting off of something.:confused

I think I put my OS on the SSD....and I guess everything else went there also..(couple of games and what not)..this is what i am seeing on the disk management page...and when i right click on the black bar of the hdd.

OK, I learn something new everyday and thanks for the screenshot.;) Your pics have to be on the SSD. Search for them. I don't understand why you can't see your SSD though as it is your boot and the only drive that the OS can see. Do format the rest of your 1TB drive into partitions, like 500MB for the first and the rest after. As far as Windows is concerned, that 930 MB doesn't exist ATM.

Ok...on the pics, I have not downloaded them yet..because I couldn't manually locate the hdd...

I formated and it created 2 new drives (really the same hdd) F and G..

This is what i see now...

Also, install what software that you can to your 1TB drive as small(by today's standards) drives fill up very quickly.:eek I noticed that you've already used more than half the SSD space, whatever doesn't need the speed should be re-installed to the 1TB drive.

Looks good man! You now have 930GB more to fill up with junk.;):-D I believe the terminology gave you a wander, you look good to go from my perspective.:drink

    roger that...junk!!! lol

You are correct...the only thing i want on my ssd is my OS i think (for now)

Is there any easy way to move files/programs from the ssd to the hdd?

or will i have to uninstall/reinstall?

augiedoggie The Canadian Loon - LocoAugie (R.I.P. 2012)

Files are easy to move, cut/copy and paste. Programs, usually MS stuff don't give one an option of where to install, the rest can be uninstalled/ re-installed to your first new partition, you'll then see a 'program' folder there.
