3.7G Game file downloading

    Omg...I don't know what I was thinking. Sometimes when you have Fios hi speed internet, you get a false sense of superiority in your download speed ability.

    I should have bought the CD for the game I'm downloading.

    Just figured I'd post this useless post while I was watching my download percent bar slowly slowly move forward. :-D

    We're headed out to a family party in a half hour. Maybe by the time I get home, it'll be done.


    lol...actually, that glass of wine sounds good.

    That's a slow speed just by the sound of it. Patience my dear:p:-D I despise those kinds of companies! Give us money then we give you a crappy server! Bahhh!!! This doesn't mean that FIOS is the holy grail either.;)

    Ahhh...so it could be Their server?? Didn't even think of that, but it makes sense. I will now go back to thinking more positively towards my fios whether its the holy grail or not.:-D

    If you're downloading from Steam, or a free MMO, yes, it's their server.

    Yep, it can be as fast as you like your end, but at the end of the day, (week?), you can only D/L as fast as their server is uploading. I have high speed i-net too, and pay a not-so-small fortune for it, but in reality, there are very few connections that use anywhere near the max speed. (I still have the service though, 'cause I'm greedy and want it all, LoL!);)
    I am currently in the process of a 35GB D/L., so I indeed feel your pain, Laura.. The fist day or two were fine, but the last 15% is taking forever :mad, (aint it always the way, LoL!).

    Yeah know what you mean Laura, I bought Battlefield 3 the other week and hit that PITA installer issue that some have in that even though you have the DVD to install the game the flakey installer ORIGIN thinks you dont and starts to download 11GBs from the main server.

    If anyones hit this issue then just install the Origin bit with the internet connected then once thats installed, disconnect and the game installs from DVD,

    Not Steam this time. I've used them once and they were much faster than this download was. This is a game that just came out that looks awesome http://bout.kingart-games.com/. Supposedly a long one too, so hopefully will get my money's worth.

    I've downloaded from Amazon too and they were fast...this was just brutal.

    Well, live and learn. God, 35GB?? I think I would have been a week. That's about the speeds I was getting, although they'd go up and down. I was watching that too and getting frustrated. :-D

    That's a weird issue I never ran into...good to know though. Simple yet, probably wouldn't think of it right away.


    It's all downloaded now, so thinking I'll install today.:)

    I think after that large DL I would be installing it as well, even if it was crap!

    It's all installed...successfully from first appearances. We'll see. LOL

    I won't be able to play it today, most likely since it's my youngest daughter's 13th birthday (Another teen in the house :eek)

    Thanks all for your support during the pain of watching the status bar from the slow dl. :-D
