robertbiferi I can't follow the rules

I have win 7. and I use the Built in Magnifier.

I hold the Win Key down and Hit the Pluss Key to turn it on.

I get the Magifier Glass that shows up in the top left hand side of the screen.

And the whole screen just getss bigger and you use the Mouse to Pan the screen.

So if you move your Mouse to the Left of the screen the whole screen moves like you are holding it.

This is what I like and it works.

Now I just whent into the Customize Tab in Properites.

And picked Windows Clasic because I like the way it looks.

So I came back to use the Magnifier and when I hold down the Windos Key and Hit the Pluss Key this time something strang happened.

The Top Hafe of the screen just a strip is the Magnifing window?

So I when to the Taskbar and Right clicked the Magnifier to see if there is diferant settings and nothing for how it looks or works????

Thank you I now understand if you have the system setup in Aero Mode Full screen Magnifier will work.

I just pick Clasic because I did not like how every thing was Kind of see through.

So no matter what Type of Win Display I pick the Full screen Magnifier will only work if I pick the Aero Display??

Have you experimented with Ctrl + and CTRL - ? These enlarge the entire screen and work well in Classic mode, which I prefer to Aero too.

Do I have to turn it on first?

Because as soon as I turn it on it goes to Docked Mode.

I believe Earthling is not talking about Magnifier, he's talking about a technique that can be used in many programs to enlarge or reduce the size of what's being viewed only in that window. For example, if you are not using Magnifier and you are viewing a website, Ctrl + will increase the size of text from the web page but will affect other programs or your overall desktop display.

Yes, usaf is correct. Turn Magnifier off first before using Ctrl + to enlarge the text and Ctrl - to reduce it. Ctrl 0 (that's a Zero) resets it to default. Try it out and see if it helps, I find it much more convenient to use than Magnifier when I have to enlarge those swirly characters you sometimes have to enter as part of a security check.

Ok if I have Magnifier Turned Off I can use the Key commands you say to make text biger but just for the NET.

And this is no good because it makes text biger but the Menu Option on the browser are still the same.

And not all programs let this Key Command work.

And this does not work for the Desktop text and Icones.

Now I know everything can be set larger but I would realy have a lot of changes to do.

This is why I loved the Magnifier so just tell me one thing?

In win 7. I know the Megnifier worrks in FULL screen mode when the Display is set to I thinkj it's called Ares or Arios.

But I did not like this because everything was see through even some of the Menus Bars to all my programs you could see right through them.

So I picked Windows Clasic but I see the Magnifier does not work in FULL screen mode now.

So befor I try other windows Types like Basic or anything els does Magnifier just work in FULL screen mode in Arios or whatever that name is?
