I am trying to install a program and I get "Error 0x80070005"

Googling it, I get "How to easily fix 0x80070005 error?"
    http://www.wiki-errors.com/wiki-errors.php?wiki=0x80070005

My note: Naturally I tried the method below. ;)

My note: When I download, and run, ErrorEND 1.0.6.1, though, I get lots of errors. See thumbnail.

Are these 1000+ errors genuine, or are they trying to scam me into buying / using their program? I haven't proceeded to the next stage, after the thumbnail, as I have chickened out. :-D

Any advice will be much appreciated.

    Bazza

PS: I am not having any trouble running my laptop, AFAIK.:)
    It runs OK.:cool
I regularly run CCleaner, for instance.

Wiki-Errors!! That's a wonky site, no WOT rating. Can't say about McAfee SiteAdvisor though.
I would not use the app.
    Cheers..
Edit to add: What are you trying to install?

Technically no it's not scareware, just a really non-recommended program IMO.

    Thanks thisisu and sikvik. :)

I forgot to test it's WOT rating. :-o
WOT did not automatically flag the site as "dodgy" for me, as it usually would. :confused

I will post the program that I am trying to install, later. No time now.

@sikvik. My apologies for not answering at the time.

I am trying to load a really small program.

It loads Folder Size Information , for each Folder in Windows Explorer Details View, which would come in really handy, IMO.
    See thumbnail added.
    http://www.codeproject.com/KB/shell/DirectorySize.aspx

The program is only 6Kb in size, but requires a *.DLL and another program, SHLOBJ.h

You have to register to get the *.DLL, :cry which I did.

I think I have done both correctly :-o but still get that !@#$% error :)

Forgot the specs, ;) if it is of use.

Windows 7 Home Premium, 4 gigs Ram, Quad core processor, Toshiba Satellite P500 laptop, plenty of Hard Drive space available

Also I'd like to know how to edit *.jpg's, like adding an ellipse to "circle" important info?

    Thanks, in advance.

Bazz, doubt it works on Win 7 as it wasn't compatible on Vista. Read the "Comments and Disscussions" for Vista.

You using the Windows snipping tool right? It has a highlighter.
Else try Jing. MGs seems to have the OS X version only, so get it from here. It has the option of entering text, a rectangular frame not an oval one- you were looking for, and a pointer.

    Cheers..

    My favorite :)
FastStone Capture - Portable (1.34 MB) screen capture (screen shot) software with various selections like Full Screen, Active Window, Free Hand and more.
It also has Editing tools crop, caption etc plus "Draw" where you can add text, arrows, highlights etc. If you want the Editor handy go to Settings and tick the folder icon to the right of "Additional Buttons in Capture Panel"
While in Settings I also recommend you add some seconds to "Delay before Capture" so you can bring up Menus etc before the capture is taken.
"Reported to function in Windows 7 and in Linux under WINE."
It has now become shareware but you can download the last free version @

Thanks MadMal, sikvik and oma, for your replies. :cool

    RE:
Nice to have it confirmed. My laptop isn't in that bad a shape, I hope. :-D

    RE:
I didn't spot that "feature". :cry

    RE:
I will check out the recommended programs.
I've been using Gadwin Printscreen for years, but it doesn't do ellipses, AFAIK
Plus a very olde edition of PrintNow, dating back to W95. No longer free.:(

    Thanks all, again.

This isn't an add-on to the Explorer file manager but it's quite handy and will do what you want(see attached). I use it most of the time.
    Q-Dir Portable. Afraid it's just a little more than 6Kb though, 410KB.
