XP Mode under windows 7 Pro 32 bit not working

HI,
I am trying to get the xp mode/virtual pc installed on my laptop. It seems to install ok, but won't enable integration features.

Can anyone offer suggestions on what I can do to fix this please (in laymans terms)

Home Premium like most laptops? or Professional?

It's not supposed to play well with anything less than Professional.

You may have to turn on virtualization in the BIOS, probably in the CPU section.

 

I must learn to remember the title I clicked on. Somebody here tried putting it on the Home Premium laptop but all he said is it didn't work. No details. He was kinda funny that way.

We've had XP mode running here on two other machines.

The desktop works OK but there have been issues with two completely different applications reading from an instrument's serial port and saving results to the hard disk. A few records/lines end up with duplicates and a rare one gets dropped.

The laptop is just plain flaky. I'll have to check the BIOS for virtualization settings.
