What do you guys think of Refurbished Macbooks?

Thinking about getting a Mac tomorrow... They have really nice deals on refurbished Macbooks. I have never purchased a refurbished pc, nor would I know why they would have been refurbished in the first place.

Do any of you have any opinions about buying a refurbished Macbook, or any refurbished pc in general? I would assume their refurbished standards are higher since Mac loves to front out like a luxury computer company.

If you are speaking of getting one from the Apple website, I actually asked my sister about it a month or so ago since she's an Apple person. She has known a few of her friends who have gotten one and were extremely happy with it. They got great computers for pretty good deals.

The issue is it's hit or miss as far as what you're looking for. Sometimes they have a lot, sometimes they don't. When I was looking for an Air for my daughter, they didn't have any there a good deal.

They come with the warranties as well.

I'm not sure of how long the warranty is on refurb. Macs; however most other refurbs (HP, Toshiba, etc.) only have a 90 day warranty. Given the ungodly cost of repairing a Macbook if something goes wrong, it's wise to weigh the cost savings on a refurb against the longer warranty of a new unit.
