    I've never seen a non-beta version of it. :(

Remember how long Gmail was in BETA (and still can be?) That was kinda my philosophy with D7... at first...

However D7 has evolved, stabilized, and matured VASTLY since it was first released to the public, and (thanks mostly to Majorgeeks) D7's wide user base with all their great feedback and bug reports are to thank for it.

So just today I asked Tim to remove the BETA tag from D7's listing here on Majorgeeks, and update the D7 page to reflect the changes. I imagine he will get to it pretty soon... I removed the BETA warning from my own website about a week ago.

Keep in mind I do provide a Pre-Release version of D7 which contains newer/untested code that I release as a "Pre-Release" update; you can call that BETA if you wish, but this is only available via D7's internal update function and not available as a full download.

So no, the standard D7 release that you will find here on Majorgeeks should no longer be considered BETA.

    Thanks!

    I tested out v4.9.9.

Just wanted to say that you are doing a great job with this tool.

Keep up the good work :)

Thanks! I'm really glad you enjoy using D7!

I also want to say that if anyone is having troubles updating D7, checking for updates, or updating the default Ketarin profile, v5.0.0 (currently in Pre-Release) should fix those issues!

Also about v5, I've been asked if I had any big plans for it. Well I wish I had something, but to be honest, I do not. I can't think of anything!!! But big changes don't always come in even version numbers, maybe the next big change will be at 5.3.6 for example! Just know that although I don't have anything big planned, I am committed to making v5.x.x of D7 better than v4.x.x - continually squashing old bugs and adding in new features/functionality as I always have.

Well it looks like you put forth quite a bit of effort in the offline feature "ide_fix".

I'm unsure if this would be considered a big project for you or not but you may want to investigate and try to incorporate a similar tool called "fix_hdc" (fix hard drive controller) into D7. That would be cool, IMO. It works on Vista/7 machines too after mobo swaps and I've had a 100% success rate with it.

Thanks! Yep I did the FixIDE function back in the day, before D7 actually, and it was a life saver to say the least. I never updated it for Vista/7 because I never seemed to have that trouble with Vista/7 for some reason, I just assumed it was no longer an issue with a newer OS... Since that time I have seen it occur with Vista/7 but never frequently enough to put forth the effort lol.

I haven't run across Fix_HDC personally, but I've heard of similar tools bundled with WinPE based boot CDs and to be honest, I figured I wouldn't bother incorporating them into D7 as they are already part of most of these preconfigured WinPE CDs floating around like Hirens...

In fact, I've started to wonder if I'm the only one out there that uses ANYTHING on D7's Offline tab now. There are so many other great offline tools popping up on various preconfigured boot CDs, and mods of existing tools we are all familiar with to make them function in an offline environment, that I've pretty much given up development on offline tools and features in D7 as I don't find them as necessary as they were when I first started writing D7 and it's offline functionality... Not that I consider the offline tab a dead branch of D7, I'm just focusing more on the online aspects of it these days.
