    Hello guys!

This morning when I turned on my laptop, I wasn't able to get an internet connection (it asked me for a WEP-key, which I find very abnormal because normally my internet WEP-key is saved on my computer and I instantly can connect with internet). At this moment I thought something was wrong (virus etc.) I restarted my PC, and then everything was solved (was able to connect to internet).

So just to make sure that there isn't something on my pc, I decided to run all the steps again. (Logs are uploaded)

Combofix didn't work, I had an older version on my pc from a few years ago and when I tried to run it, combofix updated itself and then closed down because of problems. Now everytime I download it and put it on my desktop, it disapears.

Rootrepeal also crashed after 20mins orso when I ran it. (I think it also created an empty wordpad file on my desktop)

In the end, there was some malicious software found, so yeah...

I hope you guys can help, thanks in advance!

    greetz,
    Steven

You are running a very old version of MGTools. Please download the latest version of MGtools and save it to your root folder. Overwrite your previous MGtools.exe file with this one. Run the exe. file.

Also, clean out your temp folders!!

OK, I ran Ccleaner and the newest version of MGtools.

The new log is uploaded. :)

I am not seeing any malware in your logs. You may wish to post in the software or networking forums for additional assistance.

Since you are not having any malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no real time protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.We recommend them for doing backup scans when you suspect a malware infection.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.

    3. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

Malware removal from a National Chain = $149
Malware removal from MajorGeeks = $0

    Hello,

I have a huge problem again (no internet connection)

A few hours ago, I lost internet connection (normally I should have one because everything seems fine). I logged in on my internetaccount to see my used downloaded data. there I saw that I already downloaded 900+ gigs (my maximum is 150 gb per month). So thats 605% too much this month ! (the next reset is 1 february 2012).

Do you know what my problem is?

Maybe this is a consequence of yesterday's problem? Like the morning when I logged in on my PC (the story above), right next to the computer clock, my computer asked me to give the right WEP key for the internetconnection (which I didn't, and there my first story in my first post began...)

    help :'(

Perhaps someone is piggy backing on your connection. Try resetting your router to factory settings and re-enter your security. You may need to post in the networking forum for further instructions.

But just to be sure, re-run C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file and attach a new MGLogs.zip.

Ok, I reset my router and changed the WEP key security to a WPA security. (fear someone hacked my WEP key)

The new logs are in the attachment.

    thanks^^

Your logs look OK, but can you tell me what this is:
    C:\ProgramData\AMMYY

What issues are you still having, if any?

A friend who helped me out last night (resetting the router) asked me to install that. That way he was able to help me with the settings.

Currently my problems are: no internetconnection at home. I can connect to my router, but no internet (I think my internetprovider ditched us and we aren't able to contact them)...

All of your network settings are good. Do you think your ISP cut you off for too much usage?

Yes I think that's the case.

From past experiences they always do that (but that was at the end of the month where I try to reach my limit and go over it). Then they close it down for a few hours, but after that, I again have my full connection.

Now I have nothing, so yeah. Tomorrow we'll go to our store for more information and maybe change our internetprovider... Too much problems with them.

Ok thanks a lot for the help!

PS. Should I do something else? I already changed my router (from WEP to WPA). Maybe extra scans for virusses etc.?

I didn't find any malware on your latest logs. I suggest you do speak with your ISP. Good luck.;)
