How to know if I "NEED" these?

    Hi,

I'm not sure if these would be good/beneficial or what to have, but I do know, if they work as well as whatever they are designed to replace, and take-up less space (requires less storage), then I would be ALL FOR them...

Anyone willing to take a shot at this - I have them (the "Set-up") sitting in my list of downloads, and, well...??

    Thanks in advance,
    g
PS - I seem to get a LOT of this type of thing (I have more of them!)...and not exactly sure why. I often do not recall selecting (downloading) them, but sure enough - they're here..."IN" here...??

Don't know about the Java thing, except that I don't have it. As for the other, I don't let anything on my computers auto-update. Too easy to end up with some lame toolbar you really don't want (or something worse).

Skip the first one, you already have this available. Flash Player has its own updater (directly from Adobe and not some 3rd party tool).
Control Panel then Flash Player (32 bit) and finally Advanced. Be sure Check for updates automatically is selected. You will get a popup when an update or upgrade is available.

Also I run 64 bit windows but have 32 bit Flash simply because when the computer was new, 64 bit flash was not available. You do not need to install the 64 bit version of flash for flash to work correctly on a 64 bit computer. (My theory, the less software, the fewer the complications).

I'd also skip the 2nd thing. Each browser has ways within the browser to disable addons. You do not need another 3rd party tool to do something you already have on the computer. If you do not know how to disable addons, mention the browser and I'll post the steps.

I assumed it was and that's why I checked everything on my Win 7 64 bit netbook.
I still say stick with the 32 bit flash. I've been using it fine since August on my netbook. No need to install 64 bit flash. It is just one more item that needs patching if you install it.

Plodr thank you for this - sorry I'm just now seeing it.

And I DID "stick with the 32 bit flash" ;)
