Repeated Blue Screen - Software?

I have repeated blue screen incidents on a comparatively new (December 2011) Acer desktop running Windows 7 at 64 bt. I followed all the prescriptions in the Malware Removal forum(see trend "Repeated Blue Screen") and it was now suggested to me to address this forum also. From the event log here is a typical log for one of the incidents. The blue screen tells me it is a page fault in nonpage area. What else should I post?

    Hi Cesnur,

That log is not very helpful :( , do you have any *.dmp files in Windows\Minidump? If you do, can you copy them to the Desktop then zip and attach them please?

If you do not, can you set the computer so that it will save the dumps - see Caliban's tutorial. Next time there is a crash, check if a dump has been created, if it has, please do as above.

"page fault in nonpaged area" can be caused by RAM or a driver.
    Test your RAM first.

I think this works on 64 bit. I was looking in the memtest86+ forum but didn't find anything.
download the iso (zip) and burn to a CD. Put the CD in the drive and boot up the computer. The moment it mentions an error, you can stop the test because a stick of RAM is bad.

I do have the Minidumps but cannot upload them as attachments here.
    What can I do?
    Thanks

Good idea to test memory/hardware first, without them being good, Windows might never be stable.

Memtest86+ works fine on any PC - no Windows involved during the testing.

Another Caliban tutorial - How to burn an image (ISO) to disc.

@ Cesnur, if you copy the minidumps to your Desktop then right-click them and select "send to > compressed folder", it will create a zip file, please attach the zip.

Ok, a quick analysis of the dumps is inconclusive, 3 different dumps, 3 different causes (perhaps).

All are broadly related to hardware, hardware has to be stable to support a stable OS - memory errors often trigger random errors - as this might be.

I think we'll have to ask you to check the memory in the PC, physically remove and reseat each stick and then run the Memtest86+ as plodr suggested. Any fault is a fail, but it may take 7 or more passes to trigger a fail (back to the randomness of memory errors). Can you do that please?

I'll dig deeper into the files in the dump a little later if I can stay awake, otherwise after I've had my beauty sleep ;)

The memory tests seems to confirm that there is a memory fail. However I did not physically remove the sticks, since the Acer guarantee says I will lose the guarantee if I do something like this. I will bring the computer to an Acer authorized center and will ask them to perform the exercise. Thank you

Good luck, I hope they sort it out for you quickly :)

If Acer's advertising blurb for that PC range contains anything along the lines of "fully upgradeable", that immediately calls into question their warranty is void if the sticker is removed or damaged attitude. People buy PC's because they can upgrade the parts themselves, otherwise we'd all have been buying Mac's for the last 20 years ;) and they'd (Acer) be out of business.
