win7. manage help

If you right click on my computer in win7. and left click manage and click on the right hand side of the screen on services you see a list of all the things running.

I see FAX and it is for sending and getting Fax useing the system I get this.

But you can set it to Auto or Auto Pause.
I did go to Wikapedia but I got a little lost.

I know Auto just meen it starts with win7. and stays active in RAM. But what is Auto Pause?

Auto means what it says. It is a Windows service that starts automatically when needed. If you don't fax then you can choose to disable it or select manual from Administrative tools, services. But if you don't understand it then it is best left alone.

P.S I have never gotten there the way you did. You can also go to start and type in services.

Well if I do not Fax that mutch and I set it to Menuale then am I right when I start my Fax program it will start the service?

Yes it will start the service if set to manual, by default that FAX service should have been manual in Win7 anyways (is on mine and I use fax via Broadband)

So if I set the Fax service to manual then it will not start the service till I start my Fax program.

Then when I am through useing my Fax program is the Fax service still going to be running in the background or will the service turn off out of RAM?
