SafenSoft SysWatch Personal - System problems after uninstall

Hello. SafenSoft SysWatch Personal is having a giveaway. I learned of the giveaway from a trusted site and downloaded it. It appeared to conflict with BitDefender 2012 Security Suite as it slowed my laptop (Windows 7 x64) to a crawl. Uninstall failed but using Revo I was able to get rid of it and it's registry files. I fear I also got rid of some essential files (possibly shared files) because now I can't run any installation .exe or .msi without this error:

When trying system restore I get this error:

    http://i.imgur.com/8EhNA.png
(A restore point was created prior to installation.)

When I hold down F8 during boot, it brings up the standard menu for safemode, restore options, repair computer, etc but my keyboard is disabled so I can't select and option or even esc. I do not believe I am infected with any virus.

I am not having any other problems.

Could I please get some advice as to how I can remedy this issue?

Run a boot disc to allow the system restore to work? I really need some direction.

Many thanks in advance for any help!

Oh and I requested support for this problem and got this response from SafenSoft:

Thank You very much for Your request to technical support group of Safe'n'Soft Company.

On Your request we commited special test with BitDefender 2012 Security Suite.
Our test results shows, that Safensoft SysWatch Personal v.3.6.1631 is compatible with BitDefender 2012 Security Suite.
To restore Your computer You can try to use System Restore Point or Windows Installation Disc.

    Best regards,

So, as you see above, I won't be getting any useful guidance from them.

Sorry, we don't list that at Majorgeeks so you will need to go to the developer site for help. If you want to download from a site that adds 100 files an hour with Romanian interns and you trust them... well...... You and I define trusted differently.

    Regarding my post being closed...

I posted the following thread last night:
    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=255134

I was shocked to see the reply. The trusted site I mentioned was tipradar.com, not the Russian site that developed the software.

I tried to PM the co-owner who closed the thread but he isn't excepting PMs. I wanted to address you personally about this.

I was hoping some kind soul would give me some advice but with the thread locked, even a member can't help me.

I have supported this site for years, even financially and hoped to be treated better.

This is very depressing. I really loved this site so it hurts even more to be shut-down like that.

    Sincerely, bummed out

Sorry man. I have been under the weather and tempermental. You can always email me at tim@ but accept my apologies publicly and I will delete the thread if you wish. This happened at the same time some jerk was compliaining about our free help and lo and behold, you were next while I was annoyed. We do have a problem helping with odd security software thats not listed here meaning that we dont use it, usually for a reason.

I'm not familiar with tipradar.com, so I can't comment about that site. At http://www.safensoft.com/home/free/personal/, it says "SafenSoft SysWatch Personal works great combined with Microsoft® Security Essentials software." Perhaps you should use Microsoft® Security Essentials software instead of BitDefender 2012 Security Suite if you want to use SafenSoft SysWatch Personal."

Edit: As I understand your situation, your computer is not quite back to normal after a difficult removal of SafenSoft SysWatch Personal. Is that right? Did you try a System Restore, as suggested by their tech support?

Thanks. That means a lot. We all get grumpy. :)

I'm at work right now and have little time to type but I appreciate your quick response and understanding. I'll check in later!

Yes in my original post, the inability to successfully revert back prior to install fails. I pointed this out to the developer but that was ignored by them) Now it claims there are no restore points. (This happened about two weeks ago) That's one of 3 symptoms:
    1) System Restore fails (error message in original post)
    2) No install files can be run (although all previous program .exe files execute fine.
    3) When rebooting into the repair menu, my laptops's keyboard is disabled so I can't select an option i.e. Repair Your Computer or Last know Best Configuration.

I do feel stupid for downloading this. It worked great on a friends PC who uses Microsoft Security Suite. (It basically does a double check to make sure you want to execute an install file and it asks you if you want to open it in limited mode or regular mode) The developer's site lists several other AV programs that it works with and doesn't. They claim it works with BitDefender but it didn't.

It appears as though my computer still remains guarded against install files after removing the program. I merged an old registry back-up (.reg file) to no avail. I can change boot mode and boot to a CD so I thought maybe Gparted or Hiron's boot disc might be a good idea?

I'd be looking to careful usage of Autoruns to remove any active components of the Safensoft program.

Also a careful search through the Registry to remove any settings left over.

Thanks LauraR, that's Super-Duper of you.

Turns out that enough of the program was still on my system to prevent me from installing anything so after a few emails to their support I found the answer which fixed my problem. I will share it here in case anyone ever does a search for the same problem. I must say that the product works fine on a friend of mine's PC Windows 7 x64 with Windows Security.

Here are the instructions I got from SafenSoft that removed the program, as written BY their support:

Here necessary steps to clean your OS in case of incorrect deinstallation of SysWatch client:

Check the following objects in file system and registry:
    1) Directories «Safensoft» or «SnS Soft» in C:\Program Files(x86)\
    2) «snscore.sys», «snscore.dat», «snscomlpt.sys» in the directory C:\Windows\system32\drivers
    3) The branches in registry:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE \S.N.Safe & Software
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SnS Soft
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\safensec
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SnsCore
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SnsComlpt

If the objects are present, do the following steps:
    1) Open cmd (Start -> Run -> cmd) out of account with administrator priveleges.
    2) Run the following commands:
    a) SC DELETE SNSCORE
    b) SC DELETE EVENTSVC
    3) Manually delete the above objects of file system and registry.
    4) Restart your PC.
