    Start>Run and type msinfo32 /info and hit <Enter>

Supposedly works for XP, Vista and Win7. It might take a few seconds to appear.

I think the command you are trying to remember may be dxdiag. It does show a summary of your system on the first page, but its main purpose is to test directx performance. There are many ways of looking at your system - try All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Information

    Or msinfo32 for system information.

It worked but not the way I thinkj it sould.

I went to Display RAM and on the right it says Not Avalitble.

The one that worked realey good for me was the diax command or what ever it was do you remember it?

One, there is no such thing as DOS anymore, and two, there is no command to bring up System Spec's. If you want to know what is in the system, either look at the manufacturer website, run Belarc Advisor, or look in Device manager.

Do you just want to see how much RAM is being used? If so there is a nice little gadget that's shows this in win 7. Control Panel>Desktop Gadgets> CPU Meter. It sits on your desktop and monitors CPU/RAM usage...

Why go through that, when you get the same info in Task manager.

    Thanks I am ok.

I wanted to see how mutch of my 4. GB of RAM is beeing used by my Onboard Video.

I used dxdiag to bring up the system info page and I click on Display.

It says Total Video Mem 1821 MB and in my BiOS I have it set to Auto.

I think just by me not doing anything and me at desktop 1821 MB is a lot of Video RAM to be taking out of my system RAM.

    Am I reading it right?

That's kind of nitpicking, the gadget sits on the desktop, you have to pull up TM, plus the gadget gives you the usage of the CPU...u don't like gadgets mate.....?? I personally don't like TM, use process explorer.....we can't all like the same stuff it seems..;)

I never used gadgets with Vista or 7, due to you never see them. If I ever wanted to check CPU or RAM use, I pull up Task Manager.

I have a few gadgets on my desktop (including the CPU meter), and I find them very useful.
