help! with higrade va250d laptop

i need to replace the cd drive in a higrade va250d laptop. can anyone tell me how to open it i have removed all the screws from the back of the laptop but there seems to be one in the middle that i cant find please help:cry

 

Welcome to the forum John They are all slightly different but often you have to remove everything including the,battery,add in card cover,memory cover and battery,look for the screws underneath the battery and in all the ports,underneath add in cards and memory,you may see some screws with a little picture of a keyboard those are what you have to remove but any you see remove.

Along the sides of the keyboard there are often clips 'they are tiny' or screws, to get to them you have to remove the top bezel by prising it off with a screw driver and sometimes even the side keys,be careful with the bezel is you haven't removed all the screws you could break it.There are often two clips one at each side that you have to press with a screwdriver,once all the screws are removed press them simultaneously or press one and prise one side up then press the other side.

Under the keyboard you may/should find screws that hold in the cdrom.

I can't find a service manual for your laptop it appears they don't make one and I've never worked on one of those so I am flying blind,are those laptops sold under a different name or by a different company?

I did some digging and it appears the laptop uses a Fujitsu battery. Does the laptop at this link resemble yours?

This is all I could find on the DVD drive for that particular fujitsu and it may not be the same for the hgrade so be careful. Your keyboard removal may be different.

on the hi grade model there are three screws under the battery then turn it over fold the screen right back gently unclip the top just above the keyboard and lift the keyboard and you can see the screw that is holding the cd drive.
