robertbiferi I can't follow the rules

I whent into power managment and made my own Profile and I whent into Advanced setting and set everything to not turn off or go to sleep but the Hard drive after 30 Min and saved it.

Now in my BiOS under power managment I whent to suspand type and picked s3. then whent to Resume By PS2. Mouse and set it to S3.

I saved it and rebooted the system and on desktop I go to start then sleep and after system is down I move the Mouse and nothing but I tap the power bottun and it comes back up.

So I try a USB mouse and Enable USB Mouse in BiOS and it acts the same way.

I tryed suspand type set to Auto and nothing.

What it going on I have win7. home prememume 64 Bit and 4. GB or RAM.

I think it is some kind of conflick going on since I can tap the power bottun and have the system come back up???

I thought let me go one step at a time so I will first start at the desktop.

I am in the create a power plane I click the Blanced plan and then gave it a Name.

Then I click next and set Display go off after 5. hours and system sleep 5. hours.

Then click create so all when good.

Then I click change system plan settings and then I click Advanced.

In here under Sleep I go to Hibernate and set it for 300 Min. this is 5. Hours.

And then I save it now just one thing.

If I go bacl to check my Advanced settings for my power plan it says Hibernate after 300 Min. and this is good this is what I set it to.

But on the main screen for my power plan before I click advanced it has sleep after 5. hours.

And I right that even though it says sleep it will go into my Hibernate that I have set?

And under power bottun action I have set to shut down and this works if I ever have to hold the power bottun it turns off.

Now after 30 Min it goes down and I have to tap Power Bottun and comes out of Hibernate so all it good.

But it wont come back if I move the mouse my mouse is an Opticale Mouse does this matter?

I did try a USB Mouse and nothing and in BiOS it only has resume by PS2. Mouse S3.

And you can only have it enabled or not so I have it Enabled.

And suspand type I set to S3.

What is going on do you think?

Sorry I made a Desktop computer with an ECS Motherboar A780GM-A 1.1
I have win7. home preimum 64 Bit and 4. GB of RAM.

I have an PS2. Opticale Mouse DiN connector.

I ran command promt as ADMIN and ran the command
    powercfg -h on

To turn on the Hibernation feature then re booted the system.
Then in BiOS under power managment under Suspand Type I have S3. and for Resume By PS2. Mouse I set it to S3.

My Resume By PS2 option only has two options S3. and Disable.

I set it to S3. to match Suspand Type S3.

I save and re boot and at Desktop I go to start Sleep and system goes down and I move Mouse and never comes back till I tap Power Bottun?????????????

My motherboard has a similar wake on mouse feature,to wake the computer you can't just move the mouse or click once you have to click both mouse buttons simultaneously so try that, also try a double click on the left mouse button.

Should you be using Sleep mode on a desktop? To the best of my knowledge both Sleep and Hibernation mode were designed for laptops to preserve power.

It provides the same function, electricity costs money:-D

Its convenient too because you can put your computer to sleep which trickles power into the memory leaving everything you were doing as it was,my gigabyte GAX58 can go from using about 5 watts in sleep to fully on in about 5 seconds which is really handy if I'm darting about.

If left fully on it consumes about 200 watts while idling, including the monitor and amp.

robertbiferi I can't follow the rules

I try dabble clicking the left mouse Bottun and clicking both left and right togather and no go.

If I go into Device Manager and under mouse and I go into the driver window.
I then go into the Details Tab and then see a Box that says Properties.

If I click the dropdown list it has
Device Discription and this is what is in there now.
    Then it has Hardware lDS.
    Compadable Device.
    Services.

And it even has many other things in the list.

But in the box at the bottum of the screen for what type of Device is installe it says
    Microsoft PS2.

    Does any of this help???

Go to Device Manager and open your Mouse Properties panel. You should see a tab titled Power Management. Select it. Check the box for "Allow this device to wake the computer."

Then I see a box that says Allow This Device To Wake Computer and it has a check in it.

Does this help any when I put my computer to sleep and I turn my Mouse over I can see the red light go out.
