I was in this forum about a week ago, got sent over to the Malware Removal forum and now I'm back. I got the all clear from them (after running all the scans and whatnot) but I am still having problems with Internet Explorer.

I know it does not answer your question directly, but did you try to work with FF or with Chrome?
Will solve you a lot of time in case it will solve your problem.

Hi mate , you should run sfc /scannow from command prompt to verify the correctly of Windows files

maybe you must put Windows 7 disk into your machine !! :wave

Ok, here's the scoop. I uninstalled IE9 which reverted me back to IE8. I deleted everything on the list -Delete Browsing History and I unchecked Preserve Favorites website data and started over. (I have since put a check back in that box)
The auto page refresh is working now. I have been able to store SOME of my passwords onto sites I visit regularly but I still cannot get IE to save my password for my college website that I use to submit assignments. It used to work fine before my clean install. I go to this site several times a day and it is a real pain to have to type in my username and password EVERY time (as they are fairly long entries). I have also added this site to my Trusted Sites in IE.
Any ideas why I can't save my username and password for this site?

I will look into changing my browser. I'm accustomed to this one and since I'm going to school full time and have LOTS of homework, I would rather wait until I have some more time to become accustomed to a new browser - probably over the summer. Thanks for your suggestion :)

Go to Bar menu Tools - Internet Options Advanced - pushing reset button - Apply - Ok !! :wave

I think you should re-consider this decision. I've found both Firefox and Opera to work much better than IE with regard to saving passwords.

    :( It did not work.
(I already had created a restore point and have a Windows 7 Recovery Disk.)

I ran this and reset everything again.
I get the "Do you want Internet Explorer to remember this password" for some sites but I get a different screen saying "Do you want to turn autocomplete on" for the school website. I clicked "yes" the last time I reset IE and never got another prompt nor did it save the username or password.

In the Autocomplete Settings is User names and passwords on forms checked?

I talked with someone at the college and it seems that they refigured this portion of the student site so that we are now unable to save passwords in it. Some of the students were saving their passwords on the school computers and had their accounts taken over (duh). I thank all of you who posted for your time in trying to help me with this problem.

Thanks for the feedback paisleydaisy, I sure other people will find the reason for your password issue useful.
