I was searching for a good AD Blocker for Internet Explorer and AdBlock Pro came up many times in the searches so I thought it was a good program. I purchased the program only to realize afterwards that it hasn't been updated since 2008 (That's 4 years!); anyway, I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and installed it on my Notebook, I added the English subscriptions for Ad Blocking but and restated IE but none of the ads got blocked! I even tried right clicking on the ad and manually selecting to block it via ABP (Adblocker Pro) but that didn't help!

What a useless program! So I contacted tech support first I tried reaching them on their MSN account for the LIVE CHAT as they claim on their website but that account seems to be dead as its never online. I then decided to shoot them an email and didn't get a reply for 3 days!

I got tricked by this stupid scamming company! BUYERS BE WARE! In the PayPal transaction ID the Reseller name appears to be: 项 根生 (WTF? Seriously? )

My case is now being investigated by PayPal, hopefully PayPal will refund me the money!

While you are waiting for that to be resolved rolleyes uninstall it and, if you are using IE9, try this -

I have found it very effective, but it may not work in earlier IE versions.

Paypal will assume with no response from the seller that it was resolved so watch for that email from them at which point you escalate your claim if they didnt respond and you will be refunded.

Oh I've already given up yesterday and went back to my trusty Firefox 11 + Ad-Block Plus Add-on but thanks for the suggestion

Thanks man, yes as soon as I raised a claim in the resolution center, I went ahead and added that the reseller did not respond for Paypal to investigate the issue.

I know read on Wilder Security Forums from some members that the company is a scam. They have a SoftPedia award on their website when you can't even find their app on SoftPedia!

What's said is when you search in Google for an Adblocker for IE they come on the top of the list with many false user positive comments

Lots of people steal those buttons and we enforce it here however being on the big sites like Softpedia and Download.com are really a joke. Any site that adds 10-20 files an hour can't be truisted. That means they "certify" a file every 3 minutes. The real truth is that these sites do basic scans and often don't scan them again when posted. Dwonload.com has been known to post stuff and remove it when they are told about it after sending out tons of downloads. There is no replacement for manually checking files.

We don't list these programs because it can hurt our revenue otherwise you could have found a good one here :)

Anyway, this bears repeating... Those buttons don't mean squat, always check yourself, even with us.

Thanks boss, this is the reason why MajorGeeks is on my favorites bar as I visit it at least 20 times a day checking for new programs (yes i'm obsessed with having the latest version numbers) and I've been downloading software from you for years and I thank you for offering a centralized huge library for old and the latest apps!

    Cheers

You should just use something with a built in ad-blocker(Avant Browser).

If you want a legitimate paid product for IE (and all the other browsers), I can recommend one I've purchased and had running on 4 computers (3 licenses - the first license was good for a desktop and a notebook), AdMuncher. http://www.admuncher.com/
You can test it. It used to be a 30 day trial; I'm not sure if that is still the case.
If you decide to test it, remove or disable AdBlock Plus from the computer. I don't have AdBlock installed on the computers running AdMuncher.
