Yep. I did the unthinkable. I was drinking a glass of water near my laptop and then accidentally spilled some of it on the laptop. rolleyes

Maybe I'll get lucky since it really wasn't that much water. Guess I gotta wait a few days and see. I wanna punch myself because I was just thinking I should back some of this stuff up and then I was like nah, I'll do it later. D'oh!

Ack!!!...:eek Just make sure it's 100% dry before testing it out, obviously. Lucky it was just water and not sticky Cola or beer. I get so many of those jobs. Often they need a whole new guts, which usually costs more than the laptop's worth.

I feel for you, dy.:( It's an absolutely horrible feeling which I know well....cept mine was coffee.

Hopefully your computer will dry and be fine.

I've always heard you should take the battery out immediately.

Put it in a bag of rice and seal it. The rice will absorb moisture. Put the laptop in pantyhose or similar to keep rice out of the slots.

I point and laugh because I care. And because I've done worse.

Seriously. I dumped the water from a cup of Ramen noodles on the keyboard. Oh, how stupid did I feel. Fortunately a replacement wasn't that expensive, but it was...

Thanks :p ... I once dumped a bowl of Ramen noodles on my lap.. that was not a good idea either :-D

@Laura, I plugged it up and tried to turn it on. No go :( My coworker told me to bring it in and he will see if he can fix it or hopefully at least save the hard drive.

Unless you actively soaked the computer, the hard drive should be okay.
