My video camera produces video's in an .MOC file format. Is anybody familiar with this file type? How can I convert this into a playable video format like MP4/WMV? I have never even heard of .MOC so it's incredibly strange. Any help?

It's a Panasonic camcorder, by the way... If that helps.

Generally your best option is to see if Panasonic has a convertor/option for transfering to a more standard format.

Are you sure it is a MOC file and not a MOD file?

Here are the manuals for US models

without an exact model number, it is impossible to give further help.

I found that some panasonics use MOD files
Also some panasonics record in .VRO.

How is a blanket review of the camera gonna help him figure out how to import the file the camera produces? Anyhow what type of editing software do you have installed, as it appears to be easily imported into any editing solution be it vegas, or premiere.

Not looking to import, but to convert the suffix in order to view.

Although, you probably will be able to drag it into any quicktime player and have good luck playing it. I know with the .mts format i had to download special codecs, and i had found those on the software discs that came with my camera. You can't just change the suffix and expect it to play. The data format will not change by changing the extension. Converting in an editor, or codecs are you likely only options for it to play.

Generally not a good idea to just google peoples questions and post on em if you dont have experinece.
